I was playing Kingdom Hearts the other day when i noticed...all the keyblades are the same.

As you can see there are only 10 different keyblades and there are like a few thousand of keyblades there. So i wondered why and why they all look so themeless (dull, plain, weird).

Discuss.

(idk if there is already a topic about it)

Simple because it will take time to design all that keyblades. And did you notice how many times the 8th keyblade shown in the cutscenes?Waaaay to much "Advertisement"

No i mean if everybody used the same one.

Oh then i think its not possible everyone's keyblade's are different. But idk maybe remember Aqua used Master Eraquas's keyblade? It's plausible

For everyone to use the same one (almost) would mean most people have got to meet leon, get a keychain from that experience, meet tifa, and get a keychain from her etc. etc. etc. or something along those lines.

Point is, they couldn't design new keyblades for everyone so they had to reuse keyblades from the past to save time. The reason they are so dull is can you imagine in a dusty desert where "keys used to be full of power" various colerfull keyblades stuck in the ground.

Those aren't Lionheart, Fenrir etc. They look similar, but look carefully and you'll see that they are different.

Why do they all look the same? Well, why would Square Enix make thousands of new Keyblades which would only be shown for just a few cutscenes? It would be a waste of time to create many new and different Keyblades, that's why they only made ten and used those over and over again.

And for your other question, if everybody in the Keyblade War used the same Keyblades, the answer would be no. They all probably wielded different Keyblades.

Yeah, that. I'm not asking why Square didn't make more, i'm asking why everybody in the Keyblade War has the same key.

The fact that there are multiple copies of those Keyblades has nothing to do with the story. All they did was create those keyblades, and then copy/paste them everywhere. It's a much quicker process that takes up less space. Think about it. You're creating a game and there was supposed to be a war beforehand with many Keyblades left behind. Would you really go and create a thousand different Keyblades to make it fit in with the story? No. That would take forever, and take up too much space on the UMD. So instead they created a few Keyblades, some of which are just modified versions of existing Keyblades.

They most likely didn't. It was just easier to make all the keyblades look the same.

To me this is just something that Square and Disney completely overlooked and didn't think anyone would take into canon consideration. Also, it's technically, impossible to wield the same keyblade at the same time as the original wielder. Roxas and Sora can because of their connection, but there was a huge toll on both of them, because of it. (Xion's a fake, made of memories or something).

well it could be that the keyblade war was wwaaaayyy many years ago so that it did not exist many keyblades at the time or something

that would waste time if they made more than 1000 diffrent keyblades so they just spammed the same keyblade

as it has already been said it would take 2 longand there are more than 10 different types probably 16

thoes keyblades are styled after keyblades allready made

and if you havent noticed

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME NOMURA MADE IT SO THEY LOOK SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something else to note, Square tends to have a trope where significant characters get unique weapons. It's entirely possible that the keyblade wielders during the keyblade war used generic keyblades, the same way characters in other Square games use generic swords.

Hence why he said styled. They aren't the same, they just look similar to other Keyblades, I know u said that but you basically restated what he was saying, but didn't realize that he was saying what you said, if you are confused, then you need to read slower.

They could of all been colored diff from each other and had diff powers depending on the wielder.

ps. where did all the keyblades come from in the 1st place, where they forged or magically appeared.

Nobody knows.

Well, yeah. But nobody but him, and possibly his team.

Technically everybody who ever will know does know. If you believe time in non-linear.

My good sir, you must be mentally gay, as you have just blown my mind.

Anywho, I believe what you are saying is that we will know at some point in time.
