ok, ive got a friend who is almost 16 and he has a female friend that is 18 now his prob is he really likes her and she knows that he does yet she doesn't like him anymore than a friend. so he asked me yesterday about the legal age laws of relationships and such. ok 1.he wants to know if he can ask her out legally rite now. 2. he wants to know if its legal to just hang out and get to know eachother better and dance etc. idk any of the rules so does anyone mind helping us out. we'll be much obliged.

Well I believe this is the law but don't quote me on it. If someone over 18 wants to date someone under 18 they can't be more than 2 years older. So in "your friend's" situation everything should be fine.

dating can be with a 10 year old and an 89 year old, there's no law about it (although the situation i stated could probably get the guy suspected of being a pedophile)

If one person if over 18. You are not allowed to engage in sexual intercourse if you are under 16 years of age. So over basically 2 years apart is too much. Anything else is fine. If its the guy going out with an older woman, respect

It depends on what country and state you are in. You can date anyone you want, but if an 18 year old has sex with an under 18 year old in California then the 18 year old can be arrested due to the age of consent laws.

That's all bull. In my school a 20 year only is dating a 16 year old. There's no laws to stop anything.

There's no laws against dating ages. It's sexual intercorse that is illegal for minors.

There's not any law about what age two people have to be in order to date each other at I believe.

It's legal to hang out with her but not engage in sexual intercourse. However, I think once he turns 18 it's legal to have sex with one another, even though she's two years older then him.

As far as I know, the laws only get involved when sexual activity / harassment is involved...

 

And anyway, the younger person generally has nothing to worry about it, providing they actually like the person and agreed to it... Yeahhh, going to stop typing now I think.
