Do you think Square Enix just wanted to pick weird names for the characters. I mean honestly, they had an opportunity to name Axel "Alex". It would have actually been a normal name

Featured Replies

No, they picked those names since they are just the names of their origional selves. Only spelled differently and the letters to be mixed up.

The "X's" in everyones name was put in there once they became an Org.XIII member if I'm not mistaken. sora it wouldn't make much sense for Lea to already have an "x" in his name...it'd be weird if he ended up with 2 "x's" in his name. .w.

yes but lea's nobody's name could have been Alex

It is a good point. Who know's why they named them with their names. But at least when people talk about Axel, they know who it is compared to Alex

Opps, misread the question. xDDD

Anyway, ya gotta admit, "Axel" sounds alot cooler than plain old "Alex". xD

Axel is a normal name in my country.

Axel is too cool to have such a lame name.

Why would you want normal names? Weird and different names are so much cooler. Like Xemnas and Vanitas, these two characters wouldn't be too badass if they were named Seymour and Wilson.

The main thing is that 'Axel' is more unusual and memorable then "Alex." In any sort of entertainment, you want things that will catch people's memory.

Since when has Square ever opted to go for the normal?

Normal's boring anyway.

And why the heck should Square Enix dump their unique epicness all of a sudden just to be normal??? ~_^

I prefer Axel over Alex..

The mods should be closing these threads. It just leads to pointless discussion. All the organisations names were carefully chosen to be an anagram of another name with an 'x' included. Roxas = Sora + x , Axel = Lea + x , etc.

Alex is too common and overused, I'm sure everybody would prefer Axel.

END OF DISCUSSION.

No need to get snippy man, it was just an innocent question under the GENERAL topic. If people want to have a "pointless" discussion over something, ten it's obviously not that pointless

I always thought that his real name should have been Ela...
