hey i'm not to sure if this has been discussed in the past, but if the kingdom hearts 1 and 2 are remaked for instance, would we still see tarzan's world in the game. because i heard it was some sort of issue with the rights, that is why it never made it to chain of memories. SO just wanted to ask that if kingdom hearts 1 is remade high def for ps3, would we still see tarzan again?

I'm not really sure becasue there was a whole copyright issue with Tarzan, and Disney being disney would not pay the price to get back Tarzan becasue Disney hates Kingdom Hearts. But without Deep Jungle a big chunk of the game would me missing. Really I don't know what would happen. One thing for sure Disney would never pay the money to get Tarzan back.

 

The only thing I can see happening is Square-Enix just not making a HD Remake of KH.

What would be missing? That one scene where Sora see's the picture of the castle and says it looks familiar(because the memories are coming from kairi)? I'm sure new comers would forget about that scene later on in the game, and not figure it out.

Gotta agree with Rob. I mean I didn't notice it till my second or third play through. Granted I was younger but still.

Nope. It will be in the HD remaster, if it ever happens. Tetsuya would want it that way, because he's too lazy to do more work to replace it. He just won't do an HD remaster.

Can you at least try to be a nice person? I know it would change the story, but it'd be better than completely leaving it out. Besides, it'd give people who played the original KH an incentive to buy the remaster as well. I know it won't happen, I just think it'd be awesome if it did. Next time, try to understand that just because this is an online discussion and it's somewhat anonymous, it doesn't give you the right to be rude.

I have no idea what the legal issues around Tarzan is. I really do hope they still have it in the remaster. At least they should still have the rights for the first game, they probably just couldn't get the rights for any future games. I liked Tarzan's world. It was fun to swing through the vines and I found Sora's and Donald's fight very amusing. And we also had our first clue as to where the king had been. Although it's not a crucial part of the story, it's still important to their character development and the pacing of the story.

The Edgar Rice Burrows Co. took the rights to the Tarzan franchise back from Disney shortly after the release of Kingdom Hearts. I don't know why but I'll look it up.

 

 

 

Deep Jungle is the only Disney world from the original Kingdom Hearts that does not appear inKingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, any other game, or the manga adaption. This is most likely due to the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs still holding copyrights to the Tarzan character and later Tarzan books still under copyright, and Disney unable to secure the rights to use them.
