Okay, so KH:3D will be out in Japan early next year. So we can assume that North America will see it in the middle or late 2012, right?

 

Now, can we assume that KH:3D will be the last KH before KHIII?

 

It is 2011. Many people believe that Sony and Microsoft will reveal their next consoles in two to three years. Nintendo has already revealed their next console, the Wii U.

 

How long did it take for KHII to be made and released? It was released in 2006, 4 years after KHI. Chain of Memories was the in between game.

 

However, there have been three main games between KHII and KHIII. Those games are 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and now 3D.

 

Could this mean that Kingdom Hearts III will be further off than we think? Especially with the KH team working on other titles?

 

How would you feel about Kingdom Hearts 3 being a next gen title, about Square Enix skipping a whole console generation?

I think that when we get kh3, we will get kh3. By the time Dream Drop Distance comes out i'll be a senior in high school anyway. I had hoped that KH3 would have come out sooner than this, but I guess we have to wait until Final Fantasy 13 Versus is done. I don't know why they can't work on both titles at the same time? I mean, they sure are taking their sweet time with Versus.

it should come out in 2015 or early 2016 and dont forget other square enix teams might produce "Birth by sleep volume2" at the time were waiting for kh3.

Combined with the pre-developement it will take AT LEAST 3-4 years until the game is finished and able to be released. And that will be around Winter 2015 in Japan and early 2016 in NA and EU. Until then the next gens will be already out for some time.

 

My opinion: I think it sucks.Obviously. I bougth my PS3 hoping for a KH a GOOD FF and DQ X... and nothing till now. Let's hope FFvsXIII will be excellent.

Personally, I've been hoping KH3 will be on the Wii U. That's what I'm saving up for anyway.

Well, I'll probably get the next gen Sony anyway, since I'm a Sony fan. This will just compel me to get it sooner which means paying an arm and a leg But the good news would be that KH3 will have much better graphics and can handle more content. So I'm for whatever console they want it on.

CoM and KH2 weren't made by the same team. The time those games were developed overlapped for some time. So it is till a time of ca. 3 years.

It will but still the factors i mentioned will stretch the developement time and it will take no less of 3 years.

PS3 games will still be released even if there is a PS4 out.

If I remember correctly, KH2 came out right next to the PS3 launch , but it didnt stop it from being any less of a game even though I had seen impressive videos of the PS3. So yeah, that is my take on it, it will be one of the last truly great games for this generation, but it will eventually arrive on PS3 at some point.

In Japan KHII came out shortly after the PS3 was announced. KHII came out in North America about half a year before the PS3 came out. So yeah, pretty close together. Thought the game was being advertised for years before it came out.

But what you have to realize is that these games aren't built with the intention of being the 'last' game on a console.

I think it'll take 3-4 years for KH III to be released. MY guess (and I'm hoping) that it'll be released for the PS3

I hope it'll just be on the PS3 x_x. If it's on the PS4 (or whatever the heck they end up releasing), it'll be another system I'll have to save up $$$ for D:.

i think kh3 will be released on the ps3, the new gen system is like 3 yrs off and if they put as much effort into kh3 as they did in DDD the workers will be working their asses off, it'll probably be one of the last titles before the new console is released tho

I think the next Playstation is a long way off. The full range of possibilities of the PS3 hasn't even been explored/utilized yet.

3 will be the end of the Xehanort saga, not the end of the series. And the world has different time zones.

Yes most likely the next gen consoles. I am not sure about Microsoft but for certain Sony will have it. As far as it ever not being on Wii was most likely because most 3rd Party Game Companies could not make controls around the system. I think the WiiU may work better for it. So Nintendo has a huge possibilty.
