It would probably be best not to start the argument again, as I have had it before on two other websites, and they did not end well. However, here are my primary reasons, in a nutshell:

1. The worlds are unimportant to the story of the series, and the Disney characters in the worlds do little more than waste the time of the protagonists.

2. They make it harder to take Sora seriously (i.e. KHII's Atlantica)

3. Disney's involvement has brought censorship (e.g. Hydra's blood; the language of the TWEWY cast; Ienzo's parents; Axel's suicide attack)

4. There are only three important Disney characters: Mickey, Yen Sid and Maleficent.

There are other reasons, but I do not want to start an uproar.

You're not gonna start anything.(With me at least) Don't worry about it.

Disney is the whole point of the game. The worlds themselves are important.

I don't think Sora was ever meant to be taken seriously.

Censorship is fine. The game is meant for everyone. Including kids.

Disney characters are important to Sora's character developement. Also the princesses of heart are very important to the story. As well as Donald and Goofy.

I was going to mention that I do not regard Donald and Goofy as being important. They could not be by Sora's side during the first and second numbered titles, and there would not be much of a difference. They do little more than keep him company.

The seven princesses (bar Kairi) are only really important because of what will happen if the thirteen Xehanort incarnations come together and 'clash' with them. They are to Kingdom Hearts what the Master Emerald is to the Sonic series.

I am not sure what you mean by 'Disney is the whole point of the game' if it is not important to the story of the series for the most part.

I am not sure if I am too late to write my own unpopular opinion here, but I consider Disney to have ruined Kingdom Hearts, and I eventually made an all-text video about this very unpopular and almost psychotic viewpoint.

So you're saying that KH has been ruined from the start then, since Disney's been involved with KH since the very start? Why do you even like the series then? ._.

I used to like Disney, and it is what attracted me to the series in the first place. However, as I continued to look deeper into the series, I slowly and gradually realised that Disney is actually holding the series back and keeping it from reaching its full potential.

Interview excerpt:

- GameInformer: What do you say to the segment of Kingdom Hearts fans that believes the increasingly complex storyline of Kingdom Hearts stands at odd with the child-focused Disney element of the franchise?
- Nomura: First of all, this series is not intended to be child-focused, and so the complexity of the story is purposefully made prominent.

If it wasn't for Disney, KH would just be some other FF game. Disney is half of what makes KH, and it hasn't held it back at all. Unless you'd rather have them cut all Disney worlds, giving us like 5-10 hours of gameplay per game... And that's just one example.

I am surprised that there would be as many as five to ten. If the worlds of Re: Coded were to be removed, there would only be about three hours at most.

When people state the obvious as their only insult or way to get someone in trouble I think very poorly of them. Once in a while, whatever, but if that is their main method it just looks weak to me

I really believe that everyone should be allowed to do anything that they want to themselves thats not harmful, and it shouldn't be someone elses decision. If you don't necessarily mold your life through your culture and/or religion then why should someone force you in the first place.

And that's one reason why Disney is needed in KH. :/

Is there a reason for why the Disney worlds could not be replaced with FF-based worlds?

Because who would inhabit Traverse Town or Radiant Garden? Besides, it wouldn't even be KH at that point, it'd be Dissidia the RPG. Without Disney, we wouldn't even have KH. They didn't ruin it by any means.

you do all realize we're on an entire forum for a game aimed to kids 9-13 right

I still feel the same childhood love for the series that I did back then, does that count for anything?

You might want to re-read the interview excerpt that I included in one of my posts.

Nomura would have found a way to make the series without Disney. The story and the main characters were his ideas; not Disney's.

that was a joke. I just found it funny that this argument about Disney = ruining KH is even a thing like I don't know where to begin.Varnish I respect your opinion and all but I don't get how it makes sense. It's a game that Disney basically had to "purify" (as they do with everything nowadays, in fear of 10,000 American mothers beating angrily at their doorsteps). But that's what makes KH...y'know, KH. If you don't like the Disney aspects of it then, I guess just stick to Final Fantasy or something? o_O because KH without Disney could have easily been like Final Fantasy _ or something lol

Still, Disney's the company that suggested the game in the first place from what I've heard. They wanted to make an RPG, and went to the experts at Squaresoft (Yes, Squaresoft at the time of KH1) to ask them to develop it.

Guys, it's a kid's game no doubt, but of course we still play it. firetruck I still ply Webkinz and that's for 5 year olds. My comment was a joke, chillaxel.

Wait was that meant to be "Chill Axel"? If so I'm Black Star now dangit everyone keeps calling me Axel ;_;

I know that, I love Pokemon, which is supposedly for kids (Even though Game Freak acknowledges the older audience such as myself), and every other Nintendo franchise but Fire Emblem (Heck, I'm even getting into Metroid with the Prime series, so I guess that my old opinion on Metroid is false now). I don't have any issues with suggested ages. xD

OH NOO NO I was gonna say "chillax" but then it sounded like "chillaxel" so I just said that xD It has nothing to do with yor name!!! Haha.Oh yeah definitely, suggested age = bullshit. I was just making a joke out of it.

An interview that I read said that the opposite happened.

The Disney elements keep the series from being thematically deep and dark. The game would easily have a T-rating if not for Disney; most Square Enix games are rated T or higher as it is.

I have never played the Final Fantasy series before, and I doubt that I would enjoy any part of it.

Oh, okay. xD That got confusing fast.

Definitely. Besides, most younger players seem to play games targeted for older audiences these days, while a lot of older gamers love "kid games". For example, a lot of kids 14 and younger seem to play Call of Duty, and a lot of the modern Pokemon fanbase seems to be older fans. ._.

Uh, just because most of their games are T doesn't mean all would be. Also, a lot of the original KH plans that have been made public aren't even that bad. Pretty sure using a chainsaw to shred up darkness blobs wouldn't boost it up that high. :/

But yeah. Anyways back on topic. Varnish, point-blank no matter saying how different KH would be without Disney is sort of ridiculous, since that's such a huge part of it. One could even argue that fighting with a giant key is something the series could do without; or the overuse of the words "heart" and "darkness" (seriously I want to turn KH into a drinking game someday), but splitting a whole into two and removing one of the parts? To me that should just belong in Fanfiction.Plus in my opinion, a lot of us grew up with Disney. Not everyone in the world (like my brother, i pity him) but a lot of us. And I can honestly say that I do nt think KH would be nearly as magical, but that's just me owo.O ly thing I hate about KH? Excessive button mashing seriously, I mean KH uses too little button variety and a game like BlazBlue uses way too much. FIND A HAPPY MEDIUM, VIDEO GAMES!!!

Anime is to America as Disney is to Japan, at least from what I've been told.Who cares, KH is just one big fanfic anyways and Sora's the sneakiest lil Mary-Sue to ever make it past Star Trek. that lil shit

That reminds me of another point-Disney is not popular in Japan, so the very idea of the combination seems strange.

The series does not need to go without the themes of Hearts and Darkness, as those are two of the most important themes of the series. The series is confusing enough without the unimportant Disney 'filler' getting in the way.

Oh just go play final fantasy or something if you don't like the Disney aspects. Trust me, that's what I do whenever I get sick of Donald's fuc king voice xD I understand your argument but Disney is too big of a part of KH imo. Don't get me wrong a "KH" without Disney could still be possible but... might not be the best business move on their part lol. Like sure it could work, I honestly think it could, but the added magic from Disney is just there. It makes it more...I don't know, relatable, I guess? To kids, or maybe adults who grew up with Disney like the idea of playing as a boy whose not related to them at all, and chill with your favourite character. So in a sense, since Sora is basically living out every childhood Disney fan's dream of flying with Peter Pan, going against the evil villains, and going around saving countless worlds (cough cough yes, we all want to be Mary Sues deep down), he's sort of what links us to Disney.Or at least that's how I see it xD So YES, KH COULD exist without Disney but that's not the point of it.

I still do not regard the game to be directed at anyone under the age of twelve. Even without swearing and explicit violence (though it would not be a problem if there was), the series is quite mature; in a way that it would not be understood by young children. Without the Disney elements, the series would not be regarded as childish and would not have an impression on children, which is how the series should be.

As I already said, as much as I would like to, I do not think that I will be able to find any entry in the Final Fantasy series that would suit me.
