What's the drop gauge for?

I dont suppose Square has given any reason as to why they got younger have they?

@CrownKeeper13 From what I have seen so far, the drop guage is used for a limitbreak type skill where Sora and Riku drop to the bottom screen to use various skills. What we have seen so far, Sora uses the bottom screen as a slingshot to throw himself into a battle and when he lands the impact shockwaves outwards. Riku gets a minimap where he can quickly connect the dots on an enemy indicator then returns to the fight with a skill remarkably reminiscent of his Dark Aura skill in KH1.

my question is, why is the Way to Dawn not in Riku's hand on page 187? Did Riku suddenly become Angeal and would rather just pummel his opponent with his fists?

@Vorian_Rob Look, he's launching the Way To Dawn at them. Or making it float while it hovers attacking enemies, like when Aqua goes in one of her Command Styles, I forgot which one.

If you're talking about Sora and Riku, the last trailer made it look as though Yen Sid did that so that their experience is back at Level 1. Apparently it's part of Yen Sid's Mark of Mastery test.

But so far, where's my world & characters based on Starwars, Avatar: the last airbender, Indiana Jones, Bionicle, Harry Potter, the jungle book, Soul Calibur & who framed roger rabbit that I wished for!? Jeez, this is so slow!

I think, the 1.7 means it's not completely filled, because its maximum amount, if I remember correctly, is 2.5
