OK, So here's my theory. In the Kingdom Hearts 2 novel, when Larxene joined the Orginization, the first person she talked to was Axel and she was all flirtatious with him and in CoM she Flirted with Axel again.

 

Then before CoM, she planned to betray the Orgy with Marluxia saying that they were better off with our hearts.

 

From only the information above, i assume that as a human Larxene had a Boyfriend of something but she probably found him cheating or they broke up and the reason why she doesn't want to have a heart is because she doesn't want to get heartbroken again. Oh and her name might be Arlene like a lot people said.

Eh,ingdomHearts normally never goes into a relationship past friendship, so I can't say a boyfriend, but I do think her name is arlene.

I think Larxene suffered while she was a somebody. She thinks having a heart is painful, so that's the impression it gives. I'm not sure if it was a boyfriend, because she pretended to flirt with Axel, so either she had no problem with romance or it was just a really sarcastic, sick joke. Anyhow, Larxene didn't appear to have developed a heart, so that was all probably faked. Anyhow, it is curious.

 

Personally, I think her sadism is derived from past suffering she experienced.

 

Her death (I don't remember in which version/game it was) was kind of weird, as she almost sounded sad, like she was clinging to living in that form or something, "I'm... fading? I won't allow..."

 

She seemingly didn't want her heart back. As for her name, I guess I have to say Arlene because I can't think of anything else, but Arlene seems a little to common for a name. (I know three Arlenes and two Axel's, all born before Kingdom Hearts even existed, but I guess the people surrounding me are just unusual, as am I)

 

Anyway, I kind of pity Larxene. I get the feeling she wasn't as bad as a person as she presented herself as.

And about her character: I guess, she was kind of lonely/betrayed by someone. That would be a "good" reason to punish other people. With her heart she could not be curel even if she wanted to.

I thought most of the extra stuff in the mangas were non-canon to the actual story of the series.

Yup. I think that as well. Maybe she was acting on revenge against people who weren't even related to her suffering. It may have been her way to, I don't know, vent it away.

To be honest, I wonder if her character was ever fully developed by Tetsuya Nomura, or if she was just a fill-in.  Gauging by her personality, however, I've always thought she'd been through something traumatic as a Somebody, perhaps the loss of a loved one (I don't necessarily want to say it was a boyfriend, since she's certainly not afraid of flirting for that to have been the case), which resulted in her cruel, sadistic side.

 

I'd love it if her name was Relena, mainly because of the connotation I have to the name with Gundam Wing, but Arlene is kind of more probable...I think.

That's probably the case, despite her witch attitude to demyx and roxas, she've probably suffered from a sad past, but i don't really think it's a relationship...

But i still don't really like her, she's a witch all the time, and she's pretty aggresive in CoD!

I don't really think it is from a boyfriend from the past, I think it might have all stemmed from family or other hardships and maybe that cruel attitude was an act so she wouldn't have developed a heart and who knows, maybe she wanted to escape all the emotions and be a cruel bitch but I think she may actually be pretty nice as a somebody....idk D:
