Republic City is everything that Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko fought for when they ended the Hundred Year War. With balance restored to the four nations, benders and non-benders can live together in peace, in this thriving metropolitan area. But even the steampunk paradise of Republic City has its problems, as the next Avatar discovers. When Avatar Korra arrives in Republic City to master her airbending, she comes face to face with criminal bending gangs as well as members of a vocal anti-bending revolution. Before long, Korra's Avatar skills are put to the test when she encounters a group of Chi-blockers led by the charismatic and mysterious Amon, who threatens the city and all the benders in it. Despite the immense danger, Korra vows to fight the growing anti-bending revolution. My question is, has everyone's parents been killed by a firebender?

I pointed that out also when I found out that Asami's mom got killed by a firebender to my brother...

 

I think its that guy who Aang fought (forgot the name) that threatened and attacked Republic City.

I think his name was Yakone. And now Korra's had two 'flashback' things to her past life as Aang that I think are both related to this Yakone guy.

Why haven't I seen this yet? ADD ME PLEASE.

 

Anywho, I squealed like a little fangirl when Korra and Mako kissed. But the romance is kinda rushed.. wished they let their friendships develop a bit more. Oh well Makorra ftw. Poor Bolin...laughed so hard at the way he cried though.

yeahhh I really wish instead of each season being short 12-14 episodes they were about 26ish. It's really rather short, but I understand why they're so short with it originally just being a miniseries of only one season. They weren't going to even have another until they realized how big the fanbase was.

 

But overall I feel like if the seasons were longer they would be able to stretch out and develop relationships and other things a whole more, however I do think it's alright the way they're playing it out. It's not perfect and not what I'd prefer, but I'm still highly satisfied with the series as a whole overall.

 

I'm still somewhat interested in how they'll play out the bender vs non-bender thing in the end. I'm still at a loss on how they'll bring "peace to the world," if they'll even do that by the end of the season.

It'll probably take 2 seasons to bring peace. But supposedly Amon will be defeated by the end of the first season. Idk how that's gonna work out, it doesn't seem like there's enough time for Korra to beat him.

Just something i thought of. there are spoilers from episode 8. If you think of some holes do let me know in a PM

 

 

I believe Tarrlok is amon. First reason being in episode 8 he did blood-bending even though there wasn't a full moon. Now when Amon takes a person bending away he only touches a person forehead yet Aang touches both the forehead and the heart. Located at the forehead is one of the seven chakras. This chakras is blocked by Illusion such as Illusion of not bending able to bend. So with a little blood-bending Tarrlok could makes 1 believe they can no longer bend, or use it to block that chakra thus blocking the person energy from flowing. Another reason is that in episode 8 korra had another vision which we seen only happen when she is near Amon. This could just be a coincidence, but it might just not be.

I find myself agreeing with the possibility of this theory, but at the same time I see some problems with it. I don't remember, but if Tarrlok was at the pro-bending tournament Championship match then that theory would most likely be incorrect, also I could see blood-bending being his source of energy-bending, but its a long-shot. Also, the voice differences are a bit much. I understand changing your voice, so that no one would know it's you, but still.
