I didn't think so but isnt the defintion of an optional boss a boss that doesnt have to be beat for you to beat the game? I beat the game my first time without battling him so i kinda wonder if he is in this game.

He's not forced, therefore I would have to say he's optional

tutti frutti. Hades is an optional boss for KH1. He is in I believe the Hades Cup, though it's been forever since I have played the game myself.

You aren't forced to complete the cups in OC, so yeah. Although I don't think Sora would approve of leaving a Keyhole unsealed and a world unsearched. xP

How to find out if something is optional: Do you have to do it? If not, it's optional.

He is an optional boss in Kingdom Hearts. And if I'm not mistaken he is as well in Kingdom Hearts II. As I don't think your required to complete Olympus Coliseum the second time to proceed to The World That Never Was.

I consider him optional, as you don't have to actually fight him to beat the game, but I fight him anyways :P

Yes but i always complete everything anyways ..
