I've been watching DDD as Cyberman 65 reuploads it, and in one of the early cutscenes, Yen Sid explains the origin of all keyblades. That they were based off the X-Blade, to fight war/light/darkness, whatever.
I HATE it when awesome things in series get mundane explanations that completely ruin the mystique of it. Explanations are cool, but not EVERYTHING needs it. I really didn't want to know where keyblades came from so I could pretend there was a much cooler reason
