I just wanted to see what everyone thinks of Internet Dating. Myself, I am pro for Internet dating. If someone ends up with one of those nasty ole perverts though, I weep for their future.

Try not to get too argumentative and such. I have strong fears of a mod closing this topic xD

You have no balls if you can't ask a girl out in person. Simple as that.

What Uncle said

But really i'm not against internet dating. Hey if you want to date someone date him. Its just i think i personally wouldnt

And like Ivan and Kaiso said, The internet has its dangers. You cant be 100% that the person you are talking to is who you think he/she is. You may internet date but you may have to be aware of its dangers.

Not gonna lie, I met my girlfriend online, but we started to date after we met

I really don't carrreeee.

If you want to date online, go ahead just be smart and make sure you seen him/her face first before you meet in real life.

Hey, I broke the tie between Against and I don't really care! But seriously it's up to the person to do what they want and they're usually aware of the risks so no need to be against, just live and let live. (I'm an ex-pro btw)

I've seen one of these Internet relations before here on KH13, and it went very wrong,

Although I really want to be against, I can't deny that there are some cases that it can work out.

So I'm not really sure.

Against. My best friend keeps getting her heart broken over this. Obviously she's kind of dumb for not learning after the first couple of times, but y'know.

How? If they break up with her then the same thing could easily happen in real life. If they cheat on her, then same thing. Why does it matter that it's online?

How wrong can something like this get?

Well, it's not the online part lol, it's just that she keeps falling for the same stuff, which doesn't have a whole lot to do with internet dating, I guess.

There are risks to it, that much is certain. However, a lot of people are meeting online now, and even getting into steady relationships through online means now, so it clearly can work. A lot of people can have trouble connecting or communicating with people in real life, and meeting someone online can help you be more comfortable with whoever could potentially become your future partner for quite some time.

Now there are things you have to be careful of, not the least of which is to make sure the person you're talking to and forging a relationship with is actually who they say they are. That's why I think that before any plans of meeting in real life are put into official motion, there has to be NO DOUBT that you're talking to the actual person that you think you are. Have a video chat or something, do whatever to make sure they are who they say they are. But if you know what you're doing, and you're sure to take the proper precautions, I don't see why online relationships can't work. The internet is becoming a huge part of our lives and in the way we communicate, which means that it would inevitably come into play to help people meet who could potentially be their soul mate. People have, do, and will abuse this, and that's a fact, but as long as there are no doubts, I'm for it. People who have never seen the other's picture or heard their voice or seen them in motion and decide to meet, should not do so, because that's simply not smart, but if it could lead to two people finding happiness with each other, they should be able to pursue it.

So, my girlfriend i met online is now my ex I met online, she cheated on me :(

I personally believe that part of a relationship is the physical aspect of it. To be able to hold the one you love and to be able to completely rely on them is the most important thing. I'm sure there are internet success stories, but unless you're careful you could get hurt by someone you don't really know.

When I was younger I was pro, and probably internet dated like 10 people.

However I think being in a relationship with someone you've met in person and actually know it better, like meeting someone, dating, and if they have to move or a distance is created, it's grand if they want to continue the relationship online

After the experience I've had, I'm against internet dating. The guy was far too possessive for my liking. He also wanted me to show my bra on webcam - I flat out refused, as I was only 15 years old at the time. Even now, at the age of 19 (turning 20 in a few hours' time, in fact), I still won't go on webcam with anyone.
