Hi everyone. i been looking at all the 3d cut scenes ect. and i was wondering,,,,, since riku passed his mark of mastery and gained the power of sleep aka to dive into someone else's heart and sleep did sora gain that new ability as well? i mean it makes perfect sense to use that technique for sora to revive ventus.

Well since Sora failed I would think only RIku has the ability. However, I haven't played the game so I'm not a reliable source

I believe only Riku had gained the ability to dive into another's sleep and wake them.

 

However, I imagine Sora will also be gaining this ability, when the time comes for him to rescue Ven (KH3).

Why does everyone keep saying Sora failed, Yensid only said that he named Riku the one TRUE keyblade master and that both of them deserved the title. Sora did still unlock all 7 of the keyholes (which Yensid said at the beginning was his requirement), so technically, Sora should have the power also.

Yeah but Sora fell into the darkness which is why he didn't pass. Why would Yen sid not say Sora was a master? Anyways Sora goes off to SPOILER retake his test in the secret ending of DDD, or atleast it's what is most likely happening considering he's in the dreamworld again (IE the dreameaters) or maybe he just wnats to fluff'em up a bit.

I believe only Riku has the power since he spent the entire game in Sora's dreams, whereas Sora was just snoozing the entire time.

Both have the ability, as demonstrated by the ending, when Sora dives back to the Dream world. But only Riku passed because Sora needed help getting out of the Realm of Sleep.

No thats the reason Sora failed. He didn't gain the power... he slept through the entire exam

Riku has the power, but since Sora also unlocked the 7 sleeping worlds, Sora can go back to the sleeping worlds(as shown in the ending)

Technically, Riku only has the power over Sora's heart, since he unlocked them in Sora's dreams as a Dream Eater. Also, I believe that when Riku unlocked Sora's heart and brought him back from sleep, he also unlocked Ven's heart and woke him up. If you look closely at the end of the game, they show a sleeping Ven smiling. It would make sense since their hearts are connected.

If Riku was in Sora's dream the whole time, wasn't Sora the only one actually unlocking the keyholes of sleep?

Actually, the only Keyhole of sleep they really unlocked was the one in DI. Because after that moment, YX and the new organization took control and directed them deeper into sleep until they reached their homeworld, TWTNW.

But they didn't say he was talking about Ven. Also, Ven is only sleeping because his heart is in Sora, so it wouldn't be the same unless Riku woke Ven's heart in Sora and then it went back to Ven.

Ven gave him his keyblade armour for protection but... that didn't really work out. Ven is starting to reawaken and Sora does have the power of sleep (diving or drop) shown by when he went back to the realm of sleep. I guess it would be too early for Sora to be a Keyblade Master anyway, since that can wait for KH3. Sora of course is careless and his new rage and hatred (gained from Roxas) probably made it much worse.

True btw people Sora has ability's riku does not which is what Ansem The Wise was referring to. Such as bringing a empty puppet back and giving her a heart xion? He says sora has the ability to bring anything he thinks to life or back into existence or somewhere along those lines

seems logical but what do you think about the powers ansem the wise was telling riku about? I think sora has a new type of power coming or already has it.

Lol, give Sora some slack. He is the main character after all. Riku is a little older and more mature; he made it out of the darkness and became a better person. Sora still has some learning to do. They wouldn't just make Sora the Keyblade Master right away like that. Sora's real test will be reawakening the hearts and defeating Xehanort, retrieving the X-blade and then I think they will deem him as a Keyblade Master. Sora has pretty much been going through the little darkness phases in the past few games; KH1 was a bit innocent, Riku falls into darkness, etc. Now it's Sora's turn to learn how to conquer the darkness. Even though he knows he can do it in those tight situations, he still fell victim to the Realm of Sleep. He always needs other's help. He's gonna learn how to stand on his own two feet. =) Don't get me wrong, Sora is strong - he has to be, but he needs a little more independence like Riku before he can be deemed a Keyblade master. Sora is strong through the connections he has with others.

What are you talking about ''as shown in the ending''? Sora's wearing his KH2 outfit when he ''needs to take care of something'' and goes to Traverse Town. Which means he's in the real world and the Dream Eaters gained access to the Realm of Light.

Wrong ..May 10 Famitsu interview..READ IT . LOL! Its in the dream realm as confirmed by Nomura himself . He wanted to show that Sora had also obtained the power to open the doors to sleep

I can accept that. Also makes more sense than trying to figure out why the Dream Eaters can travel into the real world. lol I do hope it doesn't get people thinking he's retaking his MoM exam though.
