That's a very interesting theory, and you made a good point, but I really hope it's not true. I mean, congratz to them for coming up with a possibly correct theory, but I hope it's not true. Not just cuz I'm a jerk, but because I think most people would love to see Lea fight along the good guys' side

Another possibility is, if it did happen that way, that piece of his heart might be laying dormant until he decides it is time to take control, which could explain a lack of physical signs.

again it's not my theory I just found interesting and me too i would like to see Lea fighting with the good guys.

Lea blocked the heart with one of the chakrams.if i remember right.

 

And MX smile,maybe it's for Isa go and attack him...

If Axel/Lea wasnt a worthy vessel as a nobody , why would he be a successful vessel now that hes got his heart back ? Just sayin' .Also, In case you havent noticed , potential vessels needed a certain amount of darkness in them to also make this implantation work . This was why they needed Sora to fall to darkness, and also the case in the past with Riku and Terra. Also the reason MX smiled was said in an interview that he can transfer his subconcious to his other vessels at will ( Ultimania and May 10 Famitsu ) .Notice Isa attacked without being told ? why ? Bc MX was doing that hence the smile .Thats also how he gave YMX his keyblade and abilities in the YMX /Riku fight hence why his eyes glowed .

Well, judging by what YX said and the events of BbS, in order for Xehanort's heart to enter a vessel the vessels original heart must be steeped in darkness. Also by what we saw in BbS the change in personality, as well as physical appearance, is instantaneous, so I do not believe Lea is a member of the True Organization XIII, accidental or otherwise, because the first pre-requisite was not met. As for the smile, MX believes that, no mater what hindrances may arise, the 7 lights and XIII darknesses will meet at the destined spot, the x-Blade will be forged and the Keyblade War will resume, hence, he is unperturbed by such "minor setbacks". He even said as much.

Everything Flaming Lea said. The only thing I would like to add if Lea had truly became the 13th vessel then they would never have had to go back to their own time as the window of opportunity to complete the thirteen darknesses had been fufilled.

Even though i do agree Lea isnt a vessel I would like to point out two things that you said : One , the appearance changed In terra right away bc he had a whole heart not a fragment that needed to grow and slowly take over. Secondly the Famitsu interview points out MX can assimiliate with his vessels at will which is why he smiled and ISA attacked..Its also why YMX was able to be wield MXs keyblade and abilities and his eyes glowed right before his fight with Riku .If he was truly implanted,they wouldnt have run outta time and been forced back into their original timelines..

That would make sense and be interesting. He can become evil too, Master Xehanort did smiled, so maybe Lea will have some double personality issues.

Did you read the other posts ? The smile is explained and the conditions for a worthy vessel are also pointed out .

I thought about Lea beeing not "worth of will" to become a Xehanort, he does not follow the conditions we know for a person to be a vessel. But it was an interesting idea from Gamefaqs, and would be a nice plot twist. I was just immagining things along.
