Following a long tradition of special Pokémon themed consoles, a new special edition 3DS LL (known as 3DS XL in the west) has been announced for Japan. This special edition console features a special Pikachu decal and is known as Pikachu Yellow which covers the outside while the inside is white. It will cost 18,900 yen and only be sold in Pokémon Centre stores across Japan. Like all 3DSs, it will feature a region lock for 3DS and DSi games.

I don't know if it's just in Japan or going to be sold overseas yet, but WHY DOES THIS GIVE ME A REASON TO BUY AN XL!

I do like Pikachu, but I prefer my handhelds to be regular-sized.

even if its pikachu, if its japanese and only plays japanese games, there is no need to buy it. and i prefer my Regular 3DS

They never said anything about overseas products, but theres a chance they might sell them.

Hardly doubt it will be localized, Japan tends to keep things like this to themselves. Although, when Black and White were released there were special edition Reshiram and Zekrom DSi bundles.

Exactly. But it's even worse with Pokemon stuff for some reason.

Well the did give us the BBS PSP bundle, so maybe there's some hope yet.

Probably that 3DS's for Japan only.

 

Pikachu looks cute though.

It has little chance of making it State-side, so this will probably never be mine, but if I were to get a 3DS XL, I'd get this.
