In an interview Nomura mentioned that there were four untold stories. They were Roxas's time in the Organization(Days), Xehanort's past (BBS), Riku's absense, and Mickey's absense. So far we've had two of the four, when do you think the other two stories will be told that is if you even think they will? Will having the two untold stories told after Kh 3 be kind of redundant as it won't progress the story (seeing how they take place in the past)? Or do think Nomura will go back and make these two stories before Kh 3 (going back on his word that kh3 is the next game).

I think KH3 will come first, it isn't gonna be the end of the series so he'll have all the time after it to make Riku and Mickey's side stories.

Well I guess it would be stupid for them to face MX in their previous absence if the end of his tyranny is finished o.o If they do end up facing a new enemy in their side stories, I suppose it would appear somewhere in KH3 sort of cameo-thing. Maybe in their attempt to destroy MX they open the door to darkness and let whatever it is out?

I'd loooooooove another game about Riku, and Mickey ain't bad either. They could merge the two. owO

They sort of addressed Riku's Absence during Kingdom Hearts, he met our brown robed-friend (coded), was swallowed by the darkness or whatnot and got a room in Hollow Bastion (Chain of Memories) and did... things, mostly looking for Kairi (Kingdom Hearts) and stare dramatically off clock towers (coded). But his missing time from the end of CoM to the end of Days seems important, since all we know is he was wandering around being a pain for the Organization, and finding out he needed a blindfold to not turn into Ansem Seeker of Darkness. Then he disappears for most of KHII, and again there is much knowledge as to what he's doing, aside from giving memory boxes to Sora. There's not even an indication of messing with the Organization.

 

Mickey's missing time is basically just what journey he was taking that mirrored Sora's closely enough to get the Keyblade for the Realm of Darkness, and end up outside the Door to Darkness as SoD was opening it. Most importantly we need to know if they know where Aqua is, otherwise we will have some extreme trouble in freeing Ven, and as for now we have no idea what's going on with Ta=erra, having been taken ver, losing his memories, split into a Heartless and Nobody, recombining, and last we saw still under Xehanort's control.

I feel like these are both things that can be touched upon in kh3; they don't really need their separate games at this point. I think it would have been in BBS volume II, but I also think BBS volume II itself was like a backup sidegame if they needed to do another one. Aqua's story, Mickey's Story, and Riku's story could all have connections to kh3, as kh3 will delve into the past as Sora saves those connected to him.

The interview was after KH II Final Mix was released so COM can't count. I guess that Days did explore Riku's part somewhat lol.
