So here's a question that I have been wondering for while now. And that is: Why is Saix second in command? I can understand not putting someone who knew the true goal of the Org there, but out of everyone in the Org. why is it him and not one of the founding members? I think I may have found the answer. A lot of you guys were talking about who Saix and Axel were going to take over the Org. I'm going to believe you (even though I've never seen solid proof. Anyone up for the challenge?) and I'm thinking that somewhere along the line Xemnas found out about it. He couldn't get rid of them because he still needed 13 vessels, so instead he could have made Saix second in command to break that friendship up so that the plan could not commence. It seems reasonable considering that I'm pretty sure MX thought it was funny to have Saix be the one to attack Lea in DDD. What do you guys think?

I think saix either accepted xehanorts heart by accident or purpose during the time when the darkness was destroying radiant g.or something along the line of saix being jealous of axels friendship.anyways isa's line in bbs "trusts me i try to"about him not wanting to be lea friend(even if it was a joke)was a foreshadower.

I kinda agree with OkashiraKenrex, but I'm open to what people have to say on the topic, mostly because I don't really have any theory myself at the moment. And as for any solid proof of Axel and Saix taking over the Organization, *If you haven't played it and don't want to be spoiled, I suggest you turn away right now* I think that if you play 358/2 Days, in one of the dialouges between the two they were talking about it breifly. (But it's not in a cutscene that you can see in Theatre Mode!) I think it's after Axel came back from CO, and Saix was talking to him about something along the lines of sending the traitors there, I dunno, it's been a while since I played the game. Well If you ever played Days its mentioned in dialogue between Saix and Axel several times and also mentioned in the secret reports ..When their friendship breaks Saix even laments how now that their friendship is broken their plan they had together is obsolete as well..Some of their plan is also hinted at in the secret reports on Day 28, 72., 298, and especially 356..They did not trust Xemnas and thought they wouldn't really get their hearts back through him . They also tried searching for what Xemnas was hiding but failed to find what they were looking for ( turns out they were right )..As for why Saix was second in command, its prolly got to do with the fact that he was a successful vessel even if he was an involuntary successful vessel..

I kinda thought there was a connection with saix and xemnas when I was eleven and played 358 then 2 in the same month because of the eyes .__. Yeah thats the only reason because the color of their eyes were the same.. I was a weird little boy

Well, Saix became a vessel. You can understand with some details in KH3D, like the fact he has yellow eyes, what shows some Xehanort control over him. I didn't play Days that much to find out about this betrayal, but if there was a plan, Saix gave up on it, seeing how he clearly became a vessel. So that's the reason he was made second in command, he was already a vessel, what puts him in a place he can't betray Xemnas, what makes him reliable.

^What they've all said. But one thing that bugs me, if Saïx already was the second-in-command, why eliminate Zexion to move up the ranks? Saïx and Axel wanted to overthrow Xemnas in order to get their Hearts back, but if Saïx was already so high up, how could have Zexion been an obstacle? Saïx apparently told Axel that he specifically wanted Zexion eliminated.
