Monty Oum, the creator of Dead Fantasy is creating a new show, called RWBY {Red White Black Yellow} so far, there is a trailer which showcase what I believe is Red, a girl based off of Little Red Riding hood. It's incredibly badass, and the soundtrack so far sounds amazing!

This is kind of off topic, but is it possible to change the thread name to just RWBY? Mods if you're looking. The reasoning behind it is it's just easier on the eyes when I get 20+ notifications in a row here and also it feels like it would look cleaner. I guess those two are basically the same reason. Plus, anyone who IS on this thread would know this is Monty Oum's new project. I doubt anyone would stumble on a RWBY thread and not know what it was and even if they didn't the first post / page explains the basic details on the thread.

alright I wanna say a few things first. I didn't make this. a friend of mine did. and its not done yet. the animation still looks awkward in some spots. and hes working on making it smoother. we are just spreading awareness that anyone can make their own animation with these programs

So I marathoned RWBY Volume 2.

 

It's definately a huge step up from Volume 1.

 

Animation was consistantly nice throughout, music is top notch as always, and characters get a bit more stuff to them. Yang got maybe 5 minutes of backstory, but that's alright for now.

 

That teacher is back, and I love that. He is easily one of the best supporting characters in this series.

 

One weak point was the dog. The animation was pretty bad for him, but I guess it makes up for it in this scene at 7:30.

How long did it take them to make this? And what software did they use?

I'd like to know this as well (since I've been fairly interested in 3D animation myself).

 

It kinda looks like MMD. If it is, he would most likely be better off using a different program. MMD models are very easy to convert the polygons and bones into an .obj and transfer to another program. Except Poser Pro. That's the only 3D animation program I know that doesn't transfer bones.

I'm doing Modeling and Animation, too, although in Blender. Wow, with only 3 months that's amazing. Maya is a little too expensive for me, so I'll probably be able to get on that level in Blender in about 5-7 months.
