I wish i had a 3DS. My mom can't buy it because its too expensive. I don't have a regular DS either. I don't have an I pod or a Xbox, or a PlayStation 3. I don't even have a MP 3 player. And I don't have a Game-boy. If only I had a 3DS, but know one will get it for me. If I had one I would be so happy.

The 3DS is actually a really good price. $200 here in Australia. $160 or so in the US. Don't get confused it's not "regular DS" as they're completely different consoles. It would be completely pointless to have a GameBoy now. You don't need an iPod or MP3 player. Nor do you need a 360 or a PS3.

You know, you could always save up money for those things yourself and not expect your mother to buy them for you-

Also 3DS is pretty cheap like Sora said so it shouldn't be too hard to get money for it. It shouldn't be too hard to save up for PS3 either.

And one thing: You don't need iPad, it's just toy. Just get laptop and phone. And most of the phones have MP3 player anyway so you don't need to buy one.

My mom doesn't want to have a phone, and I don't get allowances. Plus I stopped getting money from relatives:(

You can always try to do household chores to get some money.

I saved up money for my first games I bought myself in age of seven. Every saturday morning, I took my bike and went to look for empty bottles around the town and brought them to market to get small amount of pledge money, it took 2 months, but I had saved up 70€ and was able to buy the games I wanted.

Try anyway possible to earn money- ask your parents to see if you'd be able to help out with chores, or even do things for neighbors (if their friendly enough).

For example, last summer I had to work miscellaneous jobs for three months, just to earn the money for my own 3DS.

Why don't you save and buy one used? I got a red metalic one used for £100 $150 (whereas in store they were still £180 $285, now since the XL's come down they've reduced obviously). But the used one I got was completely like new, no scratches, could register it to my own e-account and nintendostores (so I got full stars for it) and it came with Zelda fourswords already installed.

I myself come from a low-income family, and my mum would never be able to give money for allowance regularly to save to buy all the consoles I have (Actually, PS2 (ex now)boyfriend bought, N64 friend bought, DS and PSP my mother bought me for different birthdays, PS3 and 3DS I bought after months of saving my EMA, which I only got from age 17)

But when I started getting EMA, instead of spending it on nights out or drinking, I saved for things so I could have something to show for it. I saved for 5 months and bought this desktop pc i'm typing from right now, and I'm gonna be saving another 5 months for a laptop for university, and give this desktop to my mother. My phone, mp3 player, PS3, pc, HD tv, were all bought by myself 'cause I was patient enough to save.

Instead of blaming your mother, why don't you try getting a saturday job raking leaves or something? You can sit and dream that one day some randomer will suddenly give you all the items you want or you'll win the lottery, but it's unlikely to happen.

You could try getting a work permit to work for money to get one.

That or just do chores around the house or find an odd job to do.

It's not really anyones obligation to buy you one.

No no no, you need a Gameboy! Specifically this one!

Nah, but if you really want one then try doing some odd jobs. Like mowing lawns, newspaper, ect. It will take awhile but if your determined then you might be able to buy one :OO

Ouch, that's a really tough position you're in. I don't know if your household is this way or not, but when I was growing up I wasn't paid to do chores. Instead it was just something that was expected out of all of us kids. I'm respectful of various ways that a household chooses to run things, since each one works differently and it's not always possible to earn allowances.

So, coming from a non-allowance home, I understand your pain and where you're coming from. This might not help all that much, but the 3DS isn't all that it's made out to be. I mean it's cool, Dream Drop Distance is on it, but otherwise it's really not the greatest console in the world. You're not missing out on anything that spectacular, so not to worry!

One thing you may want to consider doing is asking for the 3DS for Christmas, or whatever seasonal holiday your family celebrates. If your family cannot afford one new, there's always the option of a preowned one on eBay. Ebay is MUCH cheaper than Gamestop, and sometimes you can get a really good deal. It's just a thought, at any rate.

A weekend job might be ideal, but we all know that's easier said than done! Really, do whatever you think is right for you and your household and see if you can get a video game console of your dreams. Don't give up trying, and I wish you the best of luck in getting one!

P.S.: I also don't have an ipod, MP3 player, Xbox or PS3, if it makes you feel any better. ;)
