I think there's a thread on this already, but if you don't own one for PS2 already, or think it's worth buying a 3DS one, you should buy Tales of the Abyss. It's an awesome game, and the 3DS version comes with a few differences from the NA PS2 one, because it's based on the Japanese version.

New Super Mario Bros 2 is only good if you're a real fan of the series ... And White 2 is a DS Game, isn't it? O:Well.. I could recommend you to wait 'til March next Year, Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate will be a very good 3DS game ... Also Monster Hunter 4 is announced as 3DS only and will come out next year in Japan, so at least 1 good game is gonna happen in 2014 (I'm sure there'll be more)If you're a One Piece Fan there is OP Unlimited Cruise SP 1 and 2 on 3DS ... I don't know, but I think they're the same games as on the Wii, but they're still fun xDProfessor Layton and the Miracle Mask is also very good I think and Paper Mario Sticker Star is also a cool game.There is also a possibility that Golden Sun 4 (which isn't announced, but hinted at) will come out on 3DSIn short, there aren't many very recommendable games yet, but there many in promising

Sorry to burst your bubble but monster hunter tri g will not have online,it's confirmed yb capcom just check it on ign.HOWEVER monster hunter 4 (its for the 3ds) will have online,gonna get,maybe we can play sometime.

(little mor detail on TOTA)I've played tales of the abyss,really good game(never played it before on ps2) 10/10 but if 3d matters to u,know that the 3d effect isn't that great,u might forget the 3d is even on.Really fun and LOTS of replay value right now i'm on my sceond play through.Great story line too.Lots of good plot twisters and stuff.Too bad i spolied it for myself before i got the game.I would go on if u want to know more about the game,well actually just check wikipedia.

I started a thread similar to this some while back, but I was sort of coming from a different direction than this thread.

 

If you're not a Mario fan then I wouldn't bother too greatly with New Super Mario Bros 2 or Super Mario 3D Land.  They're traditional Mario games that are very much like existing titles.  So if you didn't like the others, chances are you won't like these either.  Especially SMB2, whose gameplay is almost exactly the same as the first New Super Mario Bros.

 

If you haven't played a Zelda game yet, I'd highly recommend getting Ocarina of Time.  It is one amazing game, one that I'd buy over and over again if given the chance.  Kid Icarus is a good game, especially for its multiplayer option, but I cannot say it is my favorite 3DS game.  If you like simpler games and don't enjoy complexities, I'd say Kid Icarus is the way to go.  Otherwise, if you're up for a challenge and want epic gameplay I'd definitely say go with Ocarina of Time.

I would recommend the harvest moon games (there are two of them, A New Beginning and A Tale of Two towns)   if you like farming 8D

If there's a game with neither of the first likes but is fun I would like to hear it. Is scribblenauts a good game and fot tota I love twisted plots they add mote to the effect of the game to me.

yep,its coming out next near,i think its pokemon mystery dugeon mamga gate or infinte gate,something like that and also tales of the abyss has great music and  gameplay.Really good cast of characters too.

They're still selling TWEWY online (check Amazon here).  I've never played it myself, so I can't really say how good it is.

 

Y'know, I wonder if you'd like Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, since it really falls into the genre you're describing.  Lots of adventure, puzzles, strategy and it has a great plot and cast of characters.  It's also waaaaaay easier than Zelda, and yet very similar too.  I'd highly recommend it.  Granted it isn't a 3DS game (it's for the DS) but the graphics are still pretty good, if I do say so myself.  The Djinni creatures that you obtain are also similar to Pokemon, if that helps any.

 

But if you're not looking for a challenging game I'd probably caution against Ocarina of Time.  Seriously, it's a real thinker!  I mean, I think you'd enjoy the first half of the game, especially given the description of games you like, but it truly does get hard after about six dungeons or so.  If you got the guide, however, it might be a bit more doable...

 

Kid Icarus doesn't have a very good plot.  The gameplay's fun, tons of action, but very few to no puzzles.  It's not a bad game, but I don't know if that's really something you're looking for.
