When I first played Kingdom Hearts ll was I the only one that thought Roxas was somehow Sora? Don't ask how I even thought that but pretty much the whole time i was playing Roxas's part i just thought he was an older version of Sora..

I first played KH2 so long ago, I don't even remember my reaction to that. I probably knew it was some new character, but was too excited to finally be playing the new KH game to care. I pay more attention to new characters now that I'm older and can understand stories better.

Well I knew he was a part of Sora but that was only because I had already spoiled the shit out of the game before I even played it. Or even finished KH1 or played CoM for that matter. 

I didn't, but my mom thought it was the same kid.  She thought Roxas looked a little funny, though...hehe.

After awhile i started playing 358/2 days and all the people who knew Sora and thought Roxas was him just annoyed me.Everytime they said "Oh hi Sora" i would always shout "Yes because sora dyed his hair blonde and decided to buy a black coat while leaving Donald and Goofy.

Sounds more like sarcasm because Roxas is Sora's Nobody and all, but that's just my narrow assumption. 

hmm i suppose in a way it is sarcasm   but it was just my way of saying i don't see the resemblance between Sora and Roxas except for eyes color,age and the fact they can wield a keyblade ^_^  ^_^

The correlation between Sora and Roxas's appearance has always been weird, the writers can't decide if canonically they're supposed to look identical or not, lol. Though I don't quite think yelling at people helps since their appearance is beyond the point. It's the whole "Roxas is Sora's Nobody, therefor, he IS Sora" mentality. It's incorrect, but that's usually the reason behind saying Roxas is Sora.

 

It'd be better to yell at 'em because Roxas and Sora are two different identities rather than because of their looks.

When I first played KH2 I was thinking where's Sora why am I playing as this dude? Then I started thinking something along the lines of "Is Roxas the Sora of this town, Hayner the Riku, Pence the fat kid and Olette the Kairi?" 

 

So in that sense I thought Roxas was Sora, otherwise I was totally oblivious and confuzzled with it all lol.

KH2 was my first KH game so i had no idea what he was until i finished his story

Ur not the only one, I never knew he was Roxas until he met Sora after the fight between him and Axel.

I actually thought Roxas was a completely different kid altogether. I was wondering about Sora throughout Roxas' part though.0

I knew the entire plot of Kingdom Hearts before playing a single game, thanks to my cousin, my school bus friends and the wiki. But I never had seen the characters. I thought Roxas was Ventus, instead of vice versa.

Now that I think about I really don't remember watching the beginning of kh2 the first time. Just the ending. My brother was always the one who played the games up until now. I had to watch the beginning on YouTube, so I already knew who roxas was and can understand what he is.

I didn't think that, I thought that it was someone else and that it would make sense eventually, then they came up with nobodies and it still didn't make sense just like the rest of KH but I still love it

It was many years back that I thought Roxas was an alternate version of Sora.
