Square Enix have prepared a new trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which was presumably meant to be debuted in coordination with the Jump Festa event in Japan. A certain website accidentally broke embargo and ran the trailer publicly, following which a resourceful fan grabbed the video and uploaded it to YouTube before it was pulled. Check it out below:

Don't get me wrong it looks amazing.

That's the one thing I thought when i first aw the gameplay. It looks like gameplay of Assassin's Creed only mixed with an improved FF XIII gameplay. As much as I kinda hate to say it, I might actually buy this game even though I haven't played the first two games.

i feel like some of the gameplay is from an earlier version of the game or something, because the cutscenes look really nice, but the world in the gameplay scenes looked more like ps2 quality graphics compared to what was in FF XIII and XIII-2. I mean, its definitely not fake, it just seemed kinda awkward if you know what I mean.

I like the trailer it looks really amazing and the game looks like it will be fun. What I find weird is that it was in english and not japanes but oh well still looks great.

This looks pretty good so far...

I should start saving up my money. O.O

I kinda have mixed feelings about this. Can't really say anything until it comes out.

Square-Enix just loves the number 13 ;P.

Oh my god! This looks so cool.

But I really hope that isn't the song that plays in every battle... Like in 13. 

So far I'm not really liking it. It looks like SE is trying too hard to copy A Creed. And the storyline just seems like FF X. 

 

I'll just wait for FF XV.

I never really been into Final Fantasy XIII before, but after watching that trailer. I just want that game in my hands NAO!

Anyone considering buying this game should be aware that Famitsu has reported that Lightning will be the only playable character in this game.

And don't forget what Vanille said in the beginning of the first FFXIII "The 13 days after we awoke were the beginning of the end." Not really about this game but it still fits the theme.
