Posted December 27, 201212 yr I've read that Mr.Nomura said Sora will always be the protagonist.Until what age .....30?! Come on now 1 or 2 games with him as a protagonist and this should end....
December 27, 201212 yr Well KH will come to an end eventually, it won't go on for virtually an infinity like Final Fantasy can. Sora will stop being the protagonist when the series comes to an end.

I actually agree with Nikos here. Not so much that Sora 'can't' be the protagonist forever, but I reckon Nomura will at least try a game in the future with a new protagonist. Or maybe just introduce a new one to take centre stage from Sora and Riku. Put the game 20 years into the future, maybe more - Sora and Riku may well be the new Masters in a world akin to Land of Departure. This opens up a whole new range of possibilities with old characters still in the mix.

No you did not understand Kingdom Hearts WILLbe contnued after MX SAGA ends but Nomura said that Sora will be the protagonist again in the next SAGA ,in the next threat.. December 27, 201212 yr Yeah he can't always be the main character. I'd probably get tired of it. Maybe this is one of the reasons BBS is my favourite.

A game like Days or BbS, probably, where we'll play as other characters but over all Sora will always be the protagonist of the series as a whole. Though I rather they just end the it with he next saga than continually stretch the series by having other protagonist take Sora's place, like have his apprentice or something be the next protagonist. I think that's why Nomura wants Sora to stay the protagonist until the end, KH can theoretically go on forever because there will always be Keyblades, Keyblade wielders, and darkness to conquer, doesn't mean he has to explore all those possibilities. At this point it's mere speculation and opinion - we each have validity in our theories, but in the short term I think we all agree that Sora isn't going anywhere soon!
December 27, 201212 yr I'm cool with Sora being the main hero, because it would be pretty stupid if they would just suddenly remove all existing characters with FF style to give new ones spotlight. I don't mind some new guys showing up though and taking some spotlight from current characters.
December 27, 201212 yr After the Xehanort saga is over I think they will probably introduce a new protagonist instead. I kind of agree with you, Sora has been used a lot through the series but we've also been able to play as other characters as well like Riku, Roxas or Ventus which changes it a bit. Sora is the main protagonist of the Xehanort saga so until it is finished you are pretty much stuck with him.
December 27, 201212 yr Cant get used to this idea. Sora to me makes sense to be the main character until the end. What "scares" me is the idea that we wants to continue the series after KH3. For more i love this series Im not sure if thats a good idea

December 29, 201212 yr Make RIKU the new protagonist *clap clap clap*... ....wut? It would probably happen in specific games (Dream Drop Distance), but not in the series overall.
December 30, 201212 yr He isn't always. There could be numerous side games where other people feature as the main for that story. It just means that after kh3 Sora isn't just gonna piss off and become a background character. Either the series will end before a new protagonist is introduced, Sora will father a child who takes over, regardless of age Sora will be strong, young looking and capable as always, simply a new person will step in (with no relation to Sora) or magic /time travel would be used to justify using Sora. Ps. Thirty isn't decrepit like. He'd still be at a peak of physical condition and able to fight, I doubt while he's capable he'd just sit back and watch the world burn.

At least Sora didn't cast as much of a shadow over Riku in DDD, but, seriously, too much Sora. I love how in BBS they introduced a bunch of characters and told their story in a single game, even if it was kind of a cliffhanger. But... Seriously, there's too much Sora.

Sora was there, but he wasn't the main focus.
January 1, 201312 yr A person at the age of thirty being the hero is not only not absurd, it makes a great deal more sense. He will be in the prime of his life, his muscles will have developed far beyond what they are capable of being in the teenage years, the experiences will make him smarter, and he will have more responsibilities and cares, making his character more interesting and capable of growth. Life doesn't end when you develop grey hair.

January 1, 201312 yr There's a simple solution to this. Stop Sora ageing. Disney characters never age. Neither do anime characters. It's perfectly logical to have Sora stop showing visible signs of ageing after a certain point.

It's perfectly logical to have Sora stop showing visible signs of ageing after a certain point. Sora, Riku and Kairi (and Selphie ...) aged about one year from I to II but from II to DDD it's around one year again (is this right?), but the only different thing: Riku cut his hair....no sign of aging Riku looks already matured, but Sora and Kairi still look a bit childish/young maybe in KH III they have aged a bit again...I hope in case of Sora always be the protagonist: I like Sora...really, but he's just.....just "normal", but somehow special because of his heart that can connect with everyone but....I like characters like Riku and Roxas more because they have personal issues which they want to fight against and not only "save the world"
January 1, 201312 yr It's never been stated just how much time passed between KHII and 3D. It could have been a year, or it could have just been a few months, weeks or even days. Edited January 1, 201312 yr by Sora_Kuno
January 2, 201312 yr Like others said, Nomura stated that Sora was going to be the main hero until the end. I prefer it that way, actually. But I will admit that they've made his character quite complex. He's got 3 people inside his heart/connected to him, and now that it's been confirmed some people are coming back (Ven and Roxas for sure) things could become quite different. The next saga, whatever it may be, could be incredibly interesting given the connections that have been established and the things Sora will learn not only about the others, but about himself. Nomura can go anywhere with his character after the third installment. If it fails, it's all on the mastermind himself. Which I really hope doesn't happen. I absolutely adore Sora. I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine. And he shall be my Squishy. Edited January 2, 201312 yr by Forever Love
