After Sora became a Heartless Kairi purified him from the excess darkness and either gave him a "fake" body made of light or his own heart projected a body.

He was a shadow heartless for ten minutes in KHI, then Kairi hugged him and he turned into himself again - a walking heart.

He was half himself. Basically, missing half his strength needed to defeat xemnas.

He was a lone Heart given form thanks to Kairi's Light, which purified him from Heartless form. Technically he lacked a body and soul then, but did not seem to even notice. Pretty much like it's implied Ansem the Seeker of Darkness was before 'giving up his physical form to time travel', or whatever. At least before, he seemingly looked human.

 

 I have transcended to an existence of only the heart. I should have come back as a Heartless, but there is no sign of such a transformation.
