Anybody else feel how stiff the jumping is in the KH series? They try to include it for platforming reasons, but it really doesn't work out so well xD

It's almost like you are stuck in the air and then you land, nothing else to it. Doesn't feel fluid at all, except for flowmotion in KH3D. It's a weird thing to complain about, as obviously it doesn't have a huge impact on anything, but yeah. I hope for KH3 they address that and make platforming feel more natural like they did in 3D.

Ranting ended and feel free to discuss~

Lol don't even get me started with high jump in BBS. I agree, it's not great. 3D did it right though, like you said.

I've never had a problem with it, the jumping is great in KH IMO. What else are you suppose to do when you jump other than going up in the air and then falling back down?

i loved the jumping in kh2!!!!!! it was quite fluid, it made me feel like i had control of gravity :) 3D did it even better!!!!!!!! but the others were  little stiff....

3D's basic jumping still had that stiff feel to it, but flowmotion made it a ton better. And yeah BBS highjump x.x

Lol well at least KH isn't a platformer. Flowmotion is epic and fun as hell, hopefully KH3 has something like it, but it seems Flowmotion is exclusive to 3D because of the whole dream thing, but maybe there'll be something similar.

In combat it feels alright, but when you are running around in the worlds and have to platform it feels really off. Especially with high jump, he does that flip and you can feel him stick in the air, and he feels weightless almost. Maybe it's just me, but it's not a major problem xD

Really? :O I felt like Sora had no weight to him xD and the momentary pause in the air was weird as well x.x

I actually like that actually. Maybe KH just has less gravity, that's why it feels weightless.

Kh1's jumping felt wierd. So did Days. Kh2's and BBS's was alright. Except for that high jump @_@ Then the rest were just alright.

I never really payed attention to the jumping because I would immediately air dash or glide afterwards.

Better than not jumping at all.

KH1 had a much varied platforming (refer Deep Jungle)

But yeah it does feel stiff -.-

Kingdom Hearts's jumping was a bit stiff. Especially the regular jump.

Kingdom Hearts 2's jump is just too overpowered. Especially if you add Aerial Dodge. JESUS

Can't remember how Days's jump is.

You don't say

I did notice a difference in high jump between BBS and KH3D. Instead of staying in the air like BBS, you would do a flip to go a bit higher, and then fall back to the ground in KH3D (or whatever platform you're on anyway).

I have no problem with jumping in the game.  The only thing I find weird is Sora landing with his legs wide open.  Seriously.  If he landed on a clock spiral, or a rail, that'd hurt.

Jumping in KH1 and Days felt a bit stiff, but I think it's due to their clunkier-in-comparison controls.  I don't remember jumping being an issue in the other games I've played.  I actually liked double jumping in BBS...
