Dream Drop Distance confirmed that each world has a different time flow.

So what I'm wondering is, does that mean Traverse Town years, or Hollow bastion years?

This can apply to things like Sora being asleep for a year. Was he asleep for a Twilight Town year? Or a Destiny Island year? Do different worlds have different qualifications for a year?

Is Sora 14 Desint yIsland years old at the start of KH1?

Does going to a dfferent world cause you to be affected by their time dilation? Or would you age at the rate of the world you're born in?

 

Wow that's actually what I was thinking about a couple days ago, good question...I'd assume they age along with their world, but it's Nomura, so I can almost guarantee this will forever be a plothole unless it gets brought up in an interview, unfortunately...I'd say that you age with the world you're born into, since they're kind of a "part" of their own world, at least that's what I got from KH 1. I assume all of the Squeenix worlds such as Traverse and Twilight Town, DI, TWTNW, etc. have a regular timeflow, as in 365 days is a year. I mean, a whole game is named after it. Kinda makes sense. Sora was away from his islands and still aged a complete Destiny Island year, so that pretty much answers it.

When "different timeflow" was brought up, I didn't think of different numbers of days in a year, I thought they were talking about differing rates of time. Because what if one second in Destiny Islands equals 1.25 seconds in some other world, but only because time moves at a different speed, rather than a person's interpretation?

Yeah these games have so much shit that boggles the mind it's starting to become annoying to think about...Which is why I kind of ignore these plot points. I get what you're saying though lol

I figured the time difference was pretty negligible, like maybe a few seconds or an hour or so.  The TWEWY gang, as far as I know, are on time limits of around a half hour to an hour, and the difference between the characters' timers wasn't huge.  Even if those seconds or minutes or hours add up overtime, I don't think the difference between worlds is important enough to warrant a Destiny Islands year or a Twilight Town year.

 

Plus, thinking about time issues inevitably gives me headaches whenever the trope is introduced, so I prefer to take what's presented at face value instead of examining it too deeply...

Every world has it's own time flow, but I think that Traverse Town, Twilight Town, Radiant Garden, DI and possibly TWTNW have similar time flows.  Therefore, while a year in, let's say RG, is 365 days, just like a year in Traverse Town.  But If someone left Traverse Town and stayed in RG for a year, they might come back to Traverse Town and find out that 370 days have past there.
