Alright, I am now firends with the girl that I like (Props to Amon, you're awesome dude), and her Birthday is comeing up soon. I want to get her a gift, but I don't want to get her something that makes her think I think we're BF and GF. Just something that she'll really like, and I can't think of anything! She loves camo so maybe I could do something like that? Sorry, I didn't have much time to write this so it may be missing alot of things, but I'll be back on tomorrow. See ya! :D

Edit: Alright I want to make things clear: I want to date this girl, I don't want to just be her friend, althought that would be nice. I have very strong feelings for her.

Edit 2: I have decided on my gift. Since she loves the marines, I'm going to get her a Builb-a-Bear wearing a U.S. Marine corps uniform

Edit 3: She said yes! We're now going out! :D

Edit: Do you think it would be weird if I asked her Mom what she likes?

I don't think that'd be strange at all.  That way you can surprise her with something she'll really like!  Another thought is ask her friends at school, if you can hunt them down to ask...

Yeah, that's what I did and I found out she loves the marines, so I was planning on getting her chocolate, a card, and a build a bear dressed up as a marine.

When it comes to giving that special someone a gift, think of all the things she likes, but most of all, think a lot about what she thinks about you, and what she enjoys most when she spends time with you.  The best gift is one that you make with all the love in the world, or a gift that you buy that shows her just how much you care.  I agree, flowers and chocolate are good gifts, but spice things up by adding a nicely written letter, take her out for dinner or walk to the park on a nice moonlit night.  Basically do what you think is the most romantic thing.  Whatever you do, you can bet that your girl will be grateful :)

The problem being they're not actually dating yet. As of now, she's just a girl he really likes.

I don't know if you've already done this, but if not--

WHOA WHOA WHOA, that really sounds like a gift she'd be getting from a boyfriend, not a guy friend. A normal guy friend does not just buy a girl a build-a-bear. Maybe a best friend, but even that's hard to picture. A card also might be a little odd. You can feel free to write a not on a piece of paper (that's not totally shredded looking). But you don't want to come on too strong, and I think giving all three of those things is definitely a "I like you, will you go out with me?" kind of present. Seriously, just find out her favorite candy, or asks her friends if there's a movie she wants, or a book series she likes but hasn't gotten the next one of yet. If you must get her a stuffed animal at all, find out what her favorite animal is and buy a beanie baby. But a build-a-bear is definitely overkill this early.

Personally, I keep randomly hoping next time I'm dating someone that he'll get me a build-a-bear as a sweet present, so seeing as how couple-y that kind of gift can be, that's why I'm making a big deal out of it. x3

I'll keep this in mind for if we actually start dating, but thanks for the idea!

But I want to be her boyfriend...my sister said the first gift she got from her boyfriend was a build-a-abear dressed up as a viking, becasue she was a vikings cheerleader and she loved it. All my family member thought it was a great idea though...you really think I should do something else?

Yes, but were they already going out? That's all I'm thinking about. And you shouldn't try giving it as a "will you date me gift?" unless you're a lot better friends, since you made it sound like you haven't been friends that long...right?

Who do you mean "they"? And we've been friends since September, other people have thought it was a good idea, you're the first person that thinks it's not.

Just make something from the heart. That should be good enough for her.

A new dress would be nice.....or flowers. If a boy sent me roses I could take care of i'd love that ^_^ Or a potted plant I can add water to every now and then ^_^

I think flowers would make me feel special ^_^ And it'd be like taking care of love, to care for them ^_^

Just my own opinion for myself, though x3; Hope it helped some-what.

Well, I know Miss DawnStar here like the D in the box. If you know what I'm sayin'.

Sing her the Pokemon song with all you got, but rearrange the lyrics so it makes more sense xD

I meant your sister and her boyfriend. And if you've been friends since September, maybe it's okay. I wouldn't do it, unless you really think there's a possibility she's interested already. I just don't think you should give anything too sweet too soon or she might be put off by it if she hasn't considered dating you yet. Of course, she might be delighted, but I'd be a little weirded out if I didn't like the guy slightly already.

Im going to agree with the other folks that said to not think of her as a girl, but who she is. As far as her likes and dislikes.

For instance, the stereotype is all girls like perfume and flowers. I myself hate perfume and cant stand flowers. (I do not have a green thumb and hate seeing someones effort go to waste on me.) So getting me either of those things would not a good bday present make.

Find out more about her and get her a nice and subtle gift. Especially if you two arent dating and dont plan to be dating soon.

I would get her a nice card. Something funny but not flirtatious so it doesnt send the wrong signal.

But if you want to spend a little more moola I would get her a funny shirt. I know plenty of sites with awesome nerdy shirts that she may like depending on what shes into. That way whenever she wears it she will think of you and know shes got an awesome friend.

...I'm so confused by what your saying. What do you mean my sister and her boyfriend??? I never said that, all I said was there's a girl I like in my class, she is single, and I want to give her a present on her Birthday. I also noticed she probably likes me. She said I was handsome today, and has made alot of physichal contact with me recently i.e. touching my hair, poking me, and touching my cheeks.

Some of other ideas:

You don't necessarily need to buy anything to her, you can take her bowling or something (or whatever she likes)

Or buy some CDs or movie (pretty easy things to buy)

And you really shouldn't buy clothes. Why?

It would be hard to find right size

Many people are very picky about their clothing

Clothes are pretty expensive

Also I think that some video games wouldn't be bad if she is into them ( I have many girls as friend who play Sims A Lot)

*sigh* My point was you were talking about how your sister said the first present she got from her boyfriend was a build-a-bear and she loved it. What I was asking was "Were they already dating when he gave it to her?" Because that's different than if they were just friends and not really close yet, and therefore maybe not the same situation you're in.

And Birth by Chawklet has a really good idea, I know you can find some funny/geeky t-shirts at Five Below too (just google search where to find the nearest store), and of course, it'd only be $5. Do you think you know her size though? I mean, I'm guessing it's not going to be too hard to mix up a small and a medium.

Ohhhhhhhh, I see, I just didn't read it right, sorry. And no, they wern't together yet. I really think this is a good idea, (Plus about 10 people have agreed with me) I already have the bear picked out and everything, I'll tell you how it goes and see if I should of done something different.

Well I gave her the gift and she absolutely loved it! She even started crying and gave me a hug! :D

She started crying and hugged you?Score.Stuffed animals usually work <. < especially if they are cute. Good job with the build a bear!

Aww, that's great. I'm glad it went so well. =)
