My personal opinion on Marlon from Pokemon Black 2 and White 2

Posted

I hate to sound like I'm complaining or something, but I felt the need to say my opinion on this guy. I just defeated him in White 2, and I'm disappointed in the way they pulled his character off. He just kinda showed up, said "Yo, come to my gym", and left when you first met him, and when you battled him, he was just there. I understand he could make more appearances later, but he seemed lazily designed, seeing as how he's not only the 8th and final gym leader, but the other gym leaders in the Gen V games all had some sort of backstory or proper introduction. He seemed kinda thrown in last second to me. And I'm not one of those people that only likes the older games, I like the old and new Pokemon games a lot. Just had to say this somewhere, and I wondered if anyone else had the same opinion.

Some gym leaders could really use a bit more development imo. I agree. He just wasn't that interesting imo.

B2/W2 had decent development for the other gym leaders, at least compared to previous games. I also thought Marlon's team could use some work, forgot to mention that in my initial post. :P I had to switch out to everything but my Electabuzz for his final Pokemon just to drag out the fight a bit (The Gym Leader last Pokemon theme is so great... xD)

True. I was referring to some past ones when I said some gym leaders. xD Most of the other BW2 ones had good development. And yeah, his team was a bit easy imo. :P

Oh, okay. xD I can kinda understand why there wasn't as much gym leader development in the Gameboy/Gameboy Color days, but Marlon really didn't get an excuse like that this time around. Also, all it took was one decent electric type to take him out, Gamefreak really didn't bother to balance out his weaknesses... I hope his PWT rematch will be more challenging.

yeah. He didn't really get as much strangely. And Serperior pretty much made him a really easy match. xD The PWT match is harder though.

I chose Emboar, but Electabuzz made quick work of all his Pokemon. Good to know the PWT match is more difficult! More to look forward to out of the PWT... :D

I haven't gotten there yet but all I have to say is, he's hot enough that he doesn't need a backstory. Defiantly the sexiest male gym leader in Gen V. I'd go as far as to say in the entire series.

I know it sounds pretty creepy saying that about an anime/video game character but imagine a real guy with a body like that and you'll see what I mean. That's typically how I judge the attractiveness of an animated character, imagine what they'd look like if they were real.

Yeahhh theres sexier.

Plus 50% of the female gym leaders are either sexy or cute.

A lot of the Water gyms I battled were very easy, they only take a Grass type or an Electric type to beat them. Yeah, he barely had any backstory, he seemed like a great character to work on also. =/

I got that he is a laid back kinda guy, and that never seemed to bother me.  Even in the anime they don't say much about him.

MARLON? FREAKY FISH GUY!
