Just found out I have color blindness

Posted

Yeah, I have mild R/G color blindness. I went to the eye doctor today for a normal checkup (once like every 5 years) and I found out. I didn't have color blindness in my last checkup, so idk why it just happened so suddenly. Genes I guess. I don't have a problem though, I didn't even notice. I can still definitely differentiate between the red and green traffic lights on streets. Although, I DID think that the new KH X [chi] logo was light grey, but apparently everybody is saying it's green. I guess I can't see light green and red easily. Anyone else here like me or has a wider deficiency of color?

dang. Sorry to hear that. I'm sure there are others at kh13 with that since there are tons of different type of people in the community though.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right. And just to make sure, your sig GIF is grey, right?

Haha good. And yeah, I can definitely see the red and green in your avatar. I guess it really is light green and light red that give me problems.

In your defense, part of the logo does look pretty grey, albeit a green-grey.  But not being able to notice something and not noticing you're not noticing it?  That's a scary thought.

Haha, yeah, I guess. I think people that have blue color blindness have the most problems, be it light or dark.

my friends mom has color blindness she can only see black and white

Agh, sorry to hear that. I don't know anyone with that severe condition of color blindness, but I'm guessing it's not fun. Well, it's certainly a million times better than actually being blind.

Dude, that sucks. I read this and my jaw dropped. It made me realize how quickly things can change.

hey! same for me! well its for like green, blue, purple, brown, yellow e.c.t (but it started from birth so i won't really understand how it would suddenly impact your life as well as you do.) i started to truly noticed when my gr 1 teacher was asking me why did i say its ok to cross the street when the stop light is yellow (i thought it was green it but apparently it was a solid yellow).

and your kinda right. the chi symbol is gray, but the stuff behind it was kinda green so yup :)

Haha, that's true. It was sudden as hell.

Ahh, so you were born with it. Yeah, I can see how the traffic light thing confused you. Lol, yeah to me it looks like it's only grey, I can't really see the green at all. Well, nice to have a colorblind buddy here haha :D

yup yup!

My cousin's got it on purple, I believe. I never really asked about it, so I don't know the details.

Dang, that sucks; I'm sorry to hear it.  Although I'm glad that you can still differentiate between darker shades of red and green, though.  Hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

aww sorry to hear about that, i hope it doesnt get any worse. i actually never met anyone with color blindness before

I'm sorry to hear that, but at least it isn't too severe. Stay strong. :)

My mother knew someone with color blindness when she was in school. The person could only see black and white.
