A new Batman game called Batman: Arkham Origins has been officially announced and is going to release Fall 2013 (October 25) for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.

This time Warner Bros Montreal is developing the game and not Rocksteady Studios but not to worry because...

"WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the Arkhamverse."

There's also a handheld spin-off called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for PS Vita and 3DS. It's a 2.5-D Metroid-style game developed by Armature Studios.

Update:
Kevin Conroy will NOT be voicing Batman. It will be Roger Craig Smith, who has previously played Ezio from Assassins's Creed, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil and Sonic the Hedgedog. Troy Baker will be the voice actor for Joker.

I think that Fall 2013 is getting even better! :D

This is what I thought til a pretty accurate batman site updated their original post yesterday

Edit: never mind apparently there was a mix up at comic-con in Dallas but Kevin Conroy cleared it all up and also confirmed a Arkham sequel :D

I hope so, but till I see it announced, I'll try not to get my hopes up too high.

Maybe Kevin Conroy is working with Rocksteady on ANOTHER Arkham game. :D

Wtfffffffffff

What is this going on? First no then yes then no again? I don't understand.

Kevin Conroy will NOT be voicing Batman. It will be Roger Craig Smith.

``Well, this is awkward.

Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that Kevin Conroy will NOT be starring as Batman in Arkham Origins. Apparently, while Conroy is providing voice talent for the game, it won't be as the Caped Crusader. Which is odd.

Instead, the honour goes to Roger Craig Smith, who has previously played Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, and Sonic the Hedgehog.``

Kevin Conroy announced it via twitter but immediately deleted the tweet :/

Really liking the Arkham series so I'm glad

what if it's a squeal to Arkham Origins....

If that were the case it wouldn't be Kevin Conroy voicing it :)

Or the Arkham handheld game.

Oh I want an Arkham game for PS Vita! Oh wait there's one already being made -> Arkham Origins Blackgate

Edited by AaySquare

The New Zealand retailer MightyApe has listed Batman Arkham Origins as a PS4 and XBox one title. This is still unconfirmed and could just be a guess by the retailer so we'll have to wait and see whether or not it's proved to be true.

Multiplayer has been officially announced thanks to this video.

I think I speak for all of us when I say: HOLY F**K!!~ :D

US gaming publication Game Informer is reporting that the eagerly anticipated Batman: Arkham Origins for Wii U won’t feature three-team competitive play. The multiplayer mode for the game is being developed by Splash Damage. Splash Damage are the team behind Brink for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Batman: Arkham Origins is due for release on October 25th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.

Source: http://mynintendonews.com/2013/07/31/wii-u-version-of-batman-arkham-origins-wont-have-online-multiplayer/

Earlier today we heard that the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins won’t include the online multiplayer component found in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the game. Understandably this came as a shock to Wii U owners who couldn’t understand why the multiplayer mode is absent from this specific version. Interestingly, a Warner Bros. spokesperson has explained that the reason why the Wii U version won’t feature online multiplayer is due to the fact that the team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest multiplayer audience.

“MP will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest MP audience.”

Multiplayer looks really fun! Can't wait for a nice change of pace from our typical shooter games.

So this is just small rant: I don't understand the voice actor change? They are going for a younger batman, but now it just sounds like a completely different person. I don't get why they didn't just have Kevin Conroy do a younger version of his voice.
