Think about it, look at how many really good games are out on the 3DS. There are tons of choices: Fire Emblem, Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Yoshi Island, Zelda, ect. If you compare that to what the Wii U has, it's pretty sad how little it actually has in terms of games. I do know that there are some upcoming Wii U games coming out(Smash bros,Mario Kart, ect), but they definitely need more than just ports of other games or party games.

I just feel like Nintendo loves the 3DS too much, and is just letting the Wii U do bad.

Anyways, your thoughts on the matter? And I was inspired to make this thread from a Kotaku article I read lol

Edit: I do realize that the 3DS has been out longer, but even the, Nintendo hasn't been doing much for the Wii U. Even the vita is outselling it at the moment.

Well look at it this way... the 3DS sells better, so wouldn't it be stupid if Nintendo invested in a console that doesn't sell??

But the 3DS has been out for much longer. It makes sense that it would have a better library. give the Wii U a few years.

But the 3DS has been out longer; of course it has more, better games. lolAt least the Wii U is getting EarthBound, which I do think is rather big considering this is the first time it's being officially released in 20 years (and that Europe never even got it in the first place).

This. The reason I don't buy recent consoles: they don't have many games, and it'll take time for them to be good. Of course, I think 3DS could be getting in the way of WiiU selling, but just it some time, and it'll get better!

No lol The reason it's not selling is because there's not much out right now, so people are finding a reason not to buy it (right now, at least).

Yeah I realize that, but you'd figure it's been out for months now, that it would have a somewhat decent list of future games coming out. Other than Mario Kart and Smash Bros. I can only think of a few off the top of my head (Pikmin 3, umm...uhh something)

Nintendo new plan as been to ignore the system they release for the first year but in the first year they release a zelda remake and maybe 1-2 big games. Than second year start to give it good amount games. It also picked a bad time to come out.

Considering I don't even like the Wii U (and therefore don't want one), I don't really care if the 3DS is hurting the Wii U, if that's what it's doing. xD But nah, if it got some decent games released on it then I might consider one in a couple years. I'm not a big fan of Ninty's home consoles. I love their handhelds, they're amazing, and I DO prefer Nintendo to Sony... but as far as home consoles go, Playstations beat the Wii/Wii U hands down imo. In terms of games, at least.

Anyway, I don't think the 3DS is harming Wii U sales. The 3DS has been out long enough now for whoever REALLY wants one, to get one. Anyone who still doesn't have one either 1. doesn't want it, 2. can't afford it, 3. is going to decide between a 3DS and Wii U, but will probably go for 3DS because the Wii U doesn't have a great library atm. Nintendo are really overdoing it in terms of remaking everything though. Not to mention the masses of Mario/Luigi games they churn out every month. I swear they just announced literally another 4 of them during the recent ND. I used to like the Mario series but now I hate it because of how repetitive they're being with it. I'd rather see good, new games with epic storylines than Mario titles remade over and over again.

Not really. The 3DS has been out for a longer time, which is why it's getting more games. Once the Wii U has been out for awhile, it'll probably be receiving a steady stream of titles as well.

The 3DS also had a rough start when it was first launched.  Not many games came out around the 3DS's launch.  I'm guessing the Wii U's price will drop, and around that time, more games will be coming out.  I'm sure the sales will pick up soon, but to be honest, I really don't have any interest in the Wii U.  At least at the price it's selling for right now.

Just the way it is. Wii U will get a lot more good games later this year.

But really aren't nintendo's portable consoles always better than their home ones?

Take the DS and wii for example. The DS is the top selling system of all time.

I think with the Wii U they were trying to use more 3rd party games.  Maybe not targeting their direct audience hurt them.

Well, the Wii U is getting Earthbound, so itll sell ALOT BETTER, considering its loyal fan base. I still despise Nintendo so much for making decision and not putting it on 3DS, but ill get over it.

Once Smash Bros and Wind Waker come out, itll sell better. Im sure of that.

Ahhh, that seemed to slip my mind xD

The only good recent Nintendo home consoles were the N64/GameCube lol

SSB4 is the only reason I'm considering a Wii U in the future

That's the weird part, if anything you'd want your console to be your main focus

but with Nintendo, it isn't like that haha I love the 3DS, just wish they'd put Wii U in top priority

Wii U should do better and hopefully have some strong games coming out in the future.

Considering that it was the Gameboy Advance that let them survive the 6th generation, maybe they realized that they need to make sure they keep practically monopolizing the handheld market?

Ohhhh, good point. I forgot that the Gamecube wasn't really the most successful thing ever xD but still, at least they could give them equal support so the Wii U won't be hurting as much. Let's hope the eventual Smash Bros, Mario Party, MArio Kart, and Zelda games can win over the people

There is a reason why I only buy Nintendo handhelds(after the N64).....the games.

I dont think it was their intention for things to be this way. Im sure ideally the believed games like Pikmin, Rayman, and Wonderful 101 would be out by now. Sadly games were pushed back and 3rd parties didnt jump on the Wii U bandwagon like they hoped. Im sure they have plenty of games in development to blow our minds in the future.

In case of the 3DS, this is that time where a lot of their developed games over the years are releasing and bc of its popularity and potential, other 3rd parties are noticing.
