So, I've been thinking lately about what I'd like to see in KH3's tutorial. I mean, not specific gameplay elements (like "press X to attack"), but how they handle it as a whole. For example, I really liked KH2's tutorial. I like the idea of starting as a different character at the beginning, making you wait before you control Sora. But I came up with some ideas for how the tutorial would work. These aren't theories, per se, just things I'd think would be cool. here they are:
1. The tutorial could overlap the end of KH3D, starting right when Riku beat Armored Ventus Nightmare. Sora could re-experience "Dive into the Heart" in his KH3D outfit, while it asks him stuff like "do you remember which weapon you had picked before?" (so that you'd have to pick one of the weapons again) and "you must remember how to fight" (while giving a little tutorial with more shadows or something). This could take place while Riku is being asked the three questions. It might show brief side-by-side snippets of Riku while Sora's Dive into the heart takes place. Then it'll end when Riku answers the last question. Then Sora would wake up and start that stupid little tea party, then the story would continue from there.
2. The tutorial could follow Aqua, as she and DiZ are in the realm of Darkness. DiZ could get up, sensing that something's happening (probably in the realm of light, that's causing a reaction in the Realm of Darkness, I have no real explanation for that though), and they could start on a trek through the Realm. You could fight some minor pureblood heartless, and maybe a bigger one as a "easy first boss" kinda thing. Then the story would shift back to where KH3D ended, implying that what we just played hasn't actually taken place in the story yet.
3. The tutorial could let us control Terra's Lingering Will. This would be one of those "we're gonna teach you how to fight while your character is massively OP so that it's not even difficult" kinda deals (kinda like God of War II and III, where Kratos is mad powerful to begin with, but loses his powers shortly). This could just be LW sensing Xehanort's return and starting to move toward where he thinks Xehanort is, mowing down any heartless/nobodies/possibly Unversed (if they choose to bring Vanitas back) that are in his way. Storyline wise, it would be cool if this would chronologically take place near the end of the story, but right when Terra's about to find Xehanort (probably battling Sora or something), it would flash back suddenly to where KH3D ended. But since you're experiencing it from Terra's viewpoint, you wouldn't know anything else about what's going on, so it wouldn't like spoil the whole story or anything.
So yeah, I just thought I'd throw those out there. What do you guys think? Feel free to discuss these or make up your own ideas as to what the tutorial could be.
