Pokémon Showdown is a free website which allows you to create your own Pokémon with its own abilities, moves, shininess, EV, IV, etc. and battle other trainers!

It is meant for competitive training and It'd be wonderful if we can host a KH13 tournament for everyone to participate! For those who want to join please create an account here and create your team(s):

The tournament will begin sometime next week (or this Sunday) depending on how many will participate.

THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD STARTING FRIDAY TO THE END OF MONDAY, PLEASE DISCUSS WHAT TIME BOTH YOU AND YOUR OPPONENT SHOULD BATTLE. THE REASON WHY I CHOSE THIS FORMAT IS BECAUSE OF SOME OF THE COMPETITORS THAT ARE IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

~OU Rules~
 

 

 

 

• A player may not use any Moveset that is not obtainable by the Pokémon.
• Using both a Pokemon with Drizzle and a Pokemon with Swift Swim on the same team is banned.
• Only Pokemon that have been proven to have a released Dream World ability will be allowed to use that ability.
• Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
• Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
• Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. The items BrightPowder and Lax Incense are banned.
• OHKO Clause: Players cannot use moves that have a chance of instantly KOing an opposing Pokémon. For example, Horn Drill is an illegal move to have on a Pokémon's move set.

 

 

 

 

~Personal Rules and Tips~

 

- Only one legendary is allowed, if you choose to add an legendary. You don't have to add one, but if you do just know it's just one legendary.

- Be sure to have a strategy, don't Earthquake through to win, this isn't RBY.

- Being annoying helps a lot, trust me.

- Don't overdo it though.

- Switch a lot, don't be afraid of switching.

- Make smart decisions, learn your Pokémon's abilities, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

- You are allowed to watch another teams match and comment.

- If you win I'll ask hatok or someone (or I personally) to create a badge for you. 

- Know your type advantages and disadvantages. 

- Experiment with your team before you go fight in the Tournament. By experimenting I mean doing OU battles with people you don't know. It's like testing the team and deciding if something needs fixing, it's perfect, or it's downright terrible. 

- I recommend playing sometimes for 3 days before the Tournament. 

- You're allowed for having multiple teams, the max teams you can use is 4 different ones. You don't have to, but if you want to go ahead.

- Don't get pissed and whine that you didn't win, just incase some of you do.

I think we should make a rule here against the use of more than one field damage move. People too often combo Toxic Spikes Spikes the one attack with stones on switch out move and sandstorm or hail and whirlwind, roar, dragon tail, ect.

Can't forget Blissey with Big Root...and other health regenerating attacks with healing pokemon with big root.

Yeah but you have Rapid Spin to take them out, and enough time to kill the Pokémon. They aren't going to be taken out since setting up 2 Toxic spikes, 3 spikes, and Stealth Rock takes 6 turns and you can easily kill them before they complete it. It's all about strategy.

It should say Illegal if unable to be learned by a pokemon without cheats.

I would say no when you pull Switch technique. But fine.

Hypnosis, super effective STAB moves, Paralysis, Toxic, Taunt, Trick + Choice item (with correct timing), Stat boosts for yourself, Stat decreases for your opponents, Traunt + Entrainment, etc.

 

Also you have items and moves that boost your attack/special attack stat and as well as speed so as they are healing you can boost your stats and take the pokemon-wall down. Plus you have Choice items and Life orbs. Plus Gems, Plates, etc.  

 

Use what suits you. If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me, I'm good with strategies but I'd like it if you come up with your own since I'm participating as well. ;D

It requires more strategy than spam. If it comes to spamming they either have a Choice item attached to the Pokémon or you already gave a chance for the guy to buff up his stats. I'll put you out though, but if you change your mind then I'll put you back in. :c

 

Besides, every tier does the same, it's not just OU. You just have to be smart and quick about it, and it gets fairly used to after a couple of matches.

Trust me, try OU for a day or 2 with a team.

If you want, I can give you a site that helps you build a perfect Pokémon for a team.

Always ask me.

I think these will be good enough, I changed some of them since OU in this site allows them. Smogon on the other hand says no, so I have to change it.

But most of the rules are similar. Don't worry, there are a load of strategies in the site even with these rules.

Anyways put me on the list, I think I can find a substitute for my 2nd legendary. Name is the same from the forum.

We should have mini-tournaments like this, with certain circumstances. Like an all Electric Type team, OU or not.

The "1 Legendary rule" is just for those who want to have legendary Pokémons, you really don't have to have them if you don't want to. (just to clear the confusion if you had it) 

Legendaries are fairly easy to take down, and most of the one who have full teams with legendaries are in Ubers not OU. 

Apparently on PS, legendaries are allowed on OU...but people only use them a few times, most of them are with other Pokémon.
