Why is it that we have never been allowed to play as KH2 Sora in any of the games after its release?

Posted

And i don't mean for just plot reasons. Those were made to explain why we can't play as Sora's older more powerful self. I mean the REAL REASON why we can't play as him.

BBS, KH1 and COM are excused since they take place before Sora turned 15. But the other games that take place after KH2 still don't let us play as KH2 Sora who can pull of all the crazy combo's. We only get KH1 Sora who can pull off the normal not really extraordinary combo's. WHY?

THAT IS THE REAL firetruckING REASON. You literally just answered your own damn question in the first sentence of the post. Plot reasons are the reason. Quit looking for deeper meaning.

You can't play as kh2 sora because it's not kh2. At least you got a kh2 sora cutscene in 3D

I always thought that they plot reasons were just to cover up why we can't play as him. I thought they didn't have him playable, because the console's couldn't handle those kind of attacks and data.

Kingdom Hearts 3D probably could have handled it as it's had a few PS2 games on it (not watered down versions I might add).

True. KH3D could have handled alot more content, maybe enough to rival even BBS(i was said that they took out stuff like leveling commands, special finishers, and shotlocks and more than one Extra Boss. At least they had Command Styles changed to Link Styles, but still. Its not as frequent and fun.). My guess is, they didn't add more content because their either:

A) Planning a KH3D Final Mix.

B ) The unused KH3D Content took up too much data, and they didn't have enough left to add anything else.

Well the KH3D Final Mix can happen but Nomura said a while ago there were no plans

— Now, is there a possibility you will make a KH3D Final Mix title?

Nomura: I don’t know what might happen in the years to come, but as of now there are no plans. Osaka Development Team have several titles on their hands, it’s not the right time for that.

So if it happens it'll be a while. Plus unlike the PSP you wouldn't be able to play the final mix version of the game since the 3DS is region locked.

Yep, so we'd all have to buy a Jap. 3DS To play it.

Ok then.

We do. When KH2 Sora goes to Traverse town at the end of KH3D(I know what you mean lol).

Don't forget when you get to control him in the credits, lol. : p

You can control him for a brief time in the credits of KH3D. Isn't that enough for now?

I mean being able to actually ATTACK WITH HIM and do ACTUAL FIGHTING.

That doesn't really count, since you can't even attack. I mean that you can control him in the overworld and fight bosses and enemies with him.

Alright, alright, I will make it all feel better. We'll play as KH2 Sora in KH3. We could not before because of data Sora in Re:coded and in KH3D where he had to forget all past notions and begin again with a clean slate.

Yeah I was always extremely pissed off about that as well...Good thing 2.5 and 3 are right around the corner.
