I have to say that I like the SNES version much more than the Maverick Hunter X remake on PsP,I still like Maverick Hunter X but I don't think it comes near as good as the SNES version for a couple of reasons:
1the 2.5D graphics in Maverick Hunter X looks awful compared to the 2D sprites of the original Megaman X1
2There is a charm in the 16-bit music of X1 that I can't ever find in the remixes of Maverick Hunter X even though the music in Maverick Hunter X is still good, but they're not as good as the original music.............just listen to this awesome track in X1
The remix of this track in Maverick Hunter X is not near as good as this...not even close.
3The controls on the original X1 feels more natural to me for some reason,I didn't feel as comfortable using the PSP controls for Maverick Hunter X as I was in thje original X1
Maverick Hunter X is still a good remake and you can find it on PSN for 9$,but if I had to recommend a version of the two,I recommend you play the SNES version, the only thing that makes Maverick Hunter X different is that it had anime cutscenes,an OVA called The Day of Sigma, and Vile as a playable character(although I hate Vile's gameplay).
