Reminders Of A Great Childhood.

'The Little Mermaid' was and still is my favorite Disney film. I have memories of watching the film about ten times a day and there was even an instance where I sang 'Under The Sea' off-key in the middle of a store when I was little. xD

I agree with you completely, there is nothing wrong with the newer films. But the older ones really had something that attracted you. Maybe nostalgia or the beautiful and classic 2-D animation.

I used to love to watch Peter Pan a lot,my memory of that was waking up one day and thinking I could fly though .__.

But it taught me that you are never to old to be a kid...which is probably why I am still childish.

I also love the movies like The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, those have always been very close to me.

I loved The Little Mermaid the most as a child and when I a few years ago watched it again first time again after watching it when I was little, I still was able to remember some conversations word-to-word and stuff! D : I must have watched it A LOT. But I love the feeling I get especially from that movie, some other old ones too. So I understand what you're saying. For me the feeling is, with some movies at least, mostly nostalgia I think though. I actually like some new movies even better than some old ones (for example, I like Tangled a lot more than Cinderella), but of course the new ones can't have that nostalgia feeling.

I must have watched Beauty and the Beast at least 100 times during my childhood, it was and still is one of my favorite Disney films. I also liked Aladdin a lot as a child. I agree with you though, it almost seems like there is some kind of emotional and meaningful aspect missing from most of the modern Disney animated films. I still watch almost all of the new Disney films released, but I feel like there is nothing like the classics. I have also noticed that the newer Disney films have not put as much effort into their musical scores, which is a little disappointing.  I want to here those pieces that provide an emotional impact again. Overall though, I must confess that I am a huge Disney fan even to this day.

I used to watch Disney movies a lot (especially Little Mermaid and Lion King), but they still don't feel very nostalgic. Somehow yes, but not that much. I wonder why. Maybe I should re-watch Lion King 2, because that was probably the one I liked the most.

...For some reason, I get more nostalgia feelings from Digimon than Disney. : D Maybe I was just a Digimon freak.

I liked basicly every post in this thread. xD;

Sadly, I didn't get to watch any of the disney films more than once as a kid (i think), really, likely due to lack of owning the channel (we've always been rather poor and cableless), and I guess I never remembered to ask my mom for videos of them.....I could be wrong, though.

But, I do have some nastalgia of Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid, likely, 'cuz we always had video games of it, and, I tended to play them a lot. I also watched the animated series pretty much daily when we used to get cable for free when I was REALLY young (like about 4 or 5). And I think I was a bit obsessed with watching the sequal for awile. xD

Cinderella, however, while i'm not sure I so much grew up with the 'Disney' adaption (though I did watch it), I did love this story in genneral and would act it out with my friends, or, stories 'based off it'. A lot. I'd also go out of my way to watch any live action take they'd show on the tv (AND in theaters. i'd like, beg my mom to be able to see them and somehow she agreed to it lol) and i'd read the story over and over again in a lot of my fairy tale books. I always loved how Cinderella's dress would look after the fairy god mother used her magic to help her, espesally cuz I was always really into dresses as a kid. xD; Whether or not I was highly firmilier with the disney adaption as a kid, as a whole, it still embarks some nastalgia in me as I loved Cinderella's story in genneral. ^_^

Also, we used to watch Mickey Mouse cartoons on our local channels for a little while, I think. And we had Duck Tales/Tail Spin videos, actually.

So that too is a bit nastalgiac for me. I do wish I owned more of the actual movies, though. xD; Ahh well...

..Well, we did get a recorded of Beauty and The Beast from a thrift shop once.

But I don't remember watching it at all. :(

If I could,I would let you borrow some Disney movies ^.^ (I own them all in VHS)But I don't think my mom would allow it considering someone took a video and never gave it back. But I would trust you with the videos ^.^

Pokemon was the childhood game for me and I remember Disney movies, Disney Channel being the first thing I ever turned on with the remote because my mom would turn on for me when ever her shows were over so I memorized the channel and watched House of Mouse

I remember watching Lion King,Tarzan, Sleeping Beauty, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Pokemon the first movie over and over again. And of course I had the toys to match some of the movies like I had Buzz,Woody,Jesse,Pinocchio,Geodude,Poliwhirl,a Pikachu ball, and a figure of Tarzan, and of course Lion King Plush toys....those were the days

Yet the weirdest thing of all was playing Halo at about 6 years old.
