You can unlock characters three ways: Classic, Smash battles, and Smash Run. 

 

And they're all randomized. Sometimes Ness will be first, others Falco, or otherwise.

They really need an amibo of Ness. I mean c'mon! They took out Lucas! Any chance of their being a mother 3 and official Earthbound 0 NA/EU release is now deader then duckhunt getting a sequel lol. I don't care if they're spoilers, Shulk needs one, Lucina definitely needs one, Mega-man, sonic and Game & Watch.

Also, how would it be spoilers if Shulk, Mega Man, and Sonic had Amiibo? They were all announced before the game's release. Same goes for Lucina, even though she's an unlockable character.

Also, guy at Gamestop told me amiibo's will release with Smash Wii U on the 21st here. I gotta start paying off the Gamecube adapter bundle and the other 10 amiibo. I already have Link and Peach paid off. I'm really excited for the other amiibo as well, mostly the Toon Link, Zero Suit Samus, and Lucina ones.

I'm holding off on buying a Yoshi Amiibo until they announce what it will actually do in Mario Kart 8. Until then, I'll be waiting for Shulk, Greninja, Ness, Zelda, and Duck Hunt.

Problem is, the Amiibo will go quick, hopefully Nintendo will keep stocking them, unlike those at Disney and Activision...

True... I might get Yoshi in advance, then. I don't know when I'd be able to though, considering all of the games coming later this year that I was already planning on buying.

Yeah, other than having to repay off 2.5 ReMIX, I believe Smash and Pokemon are the only games left for me this year. All the other games are set for next year.

Yeah, that would've been nice, but since they re-used Brawl's Voice acting for Mario(and alot of other chars.), that's probably the reason they didn't get his VA to say that. Plus, Voice Acting and Mario hasn't been liked ever since Sunshine from what i've seen. :
