Luigi is confirmed to return to SSB. No surprise there.

Actually, it looks like this will be the first time Luigi will appear in a SSB game unlocked from the start, so that's rather interesting.

And here's some screenshots to go along with that confirmed info:

That would be great,I hope that Captain Falcon is also unlocked from the start like how he was in Melee

speaking of Melee, what kind of Fire Emblem Characters will be in SSB4????

I'm sure Marth is already there

But I hope they'll add Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening instead of Ike

The creator of Smash Bros. has recently made the following statement about the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the long-awaited game.

The Wii U version will have more detail and “bigger stages as seen on previous home consoles”- which is to be expected. And regarding the 3DS version, he highlights the fact that the 3DS version, though displayed through screenshots, really has to be played to be appreciated. He points out the fact “that everything on 3DS is designed for that screen, and that’s where they look the best.” He then went on to say “Too bad we can’t show everybody what it looks like on the system.” Well Sakurai, too bad you aren’t familiar with the eShop where developers have allowed demos of their games to be played (and seen in person) for years!

What do you guys think? Should a downloadable demo version of Smash Bros be available so that people can “appreciate” its graphics? Also, what sort of ‘connectivity’ do you expect from the 3DS and Wii U versions as he had previously mentioned? Sound off in the comments!

If they release a Smash Bros demo on the eShop, I'll play it even more than I did the KH3D demo. Please do it, Sakurai. :D

Maybe a downloadable 3D trailer like other 3DS games have gotten.

I want better stage customization. What type of stage maker would you like?

It's gotta use touch screens, both 3DS & Wii U's have 'em. Maybe an elaborate paint tool to let us literally draw the stages.

At this point in time I can say, I am definitely getting the Wii-U version 100% without a doubt. It looks simply beautiful at this moment of development and as they leak more characters and parts of the game, it just increases my excitement for the game.

My need for the 3DS version is wavering at this point, I want to see if there are any major differences and then way up if I want it or not. I'm not sure why but it fails to capture the same excitement the Wii-U version does.

My problem with this has to be the cuts. Though the cuts are mostly due to time constraints, it's also partly due to the 3DS version (which is a highly unnecessary version in my opinion, should have just stuck to the Wii U only).

Though I dun like the Ice Climbers, others due and they've been around in Smash since Melee. I hear that they weren't working well with the 3DS version, so they may have been cut from this title.

The only difference are the stages in the 3DS version being handheld title stages. There isn't even a cross play set between the 3DS version and the Wii U version due to none of the stages being the same.

I think it's the weird outline around the character that puts me off the designs compared to the the Wii U version. I'm just not a fan of that particular design style/ choice, but thats probably more to do with the hardware. I'll wait and see how I feel about it when it comes out.

It`s because of the small screen to see the characters.

I agree with this. I want Smash U to be the best Smash Bros yet, but I feel like the 3DS version is just holding it back due to the 3DS space limitations and yata yata yata

Exactly. I mean, it would have been fine if they didn't plan different stages and did cross play so that way people wouldn't have to buy a whole other system to play a game on. Nintendo didn't go with that choice though, which is weird to me, so now the 3DS version just feels completely unnecessary and is holding back the Wii U version. I still believe this will be the best Smash yet, but I feel like having a 3DS version will wreck it just a bit. The Wii U version will do great no matter what goes on.

...I feel like I'm the only one who supports the 3DS... :/ If I remember, the new one was planned for 3DS first, but when the Wii U was announced (or then the Wii U was revealed to also have the game.)

3DS wouldn't be able to handle the stages on the Wii U, with the limitations.

I love the concept of having Smash Bros on the go, but all the 3DS versions seems to be doing is holding back the Wii U version. I just hope they both end up with more content than Brawl, or at least the same amount...

& in what way is it holding back the Wii U version? I'm not seeing it.

Guys, THE 3DS VERSION IS NEEDED. Its better on the go, then on a home console even if it holds it back a little. WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST ACCEPT THAT? ITS BETTER ON 3DS THEN JUST BEING WII U EXCLUSIVE.

It's not exactly needed, but it's very much appreciated. I'm personally going to buy both versions of the game, however I can see why people are complaining about the 3DS version holding it back. Smash Bros is a console franchise, after all. I just wish they could figure out how to make every planned character work. Ice Clibers were some of my best fighters...

The cuts guys, the cuts....characters that we love in the series are being cut out of the game because the 3DS version can't handle the amount of space needed for a Brawl sized or bigger roster. I dun see how you guys haven't figured that out yet. I'd love to see the roster grow, not shrink and that's what's happening because of both time constraints and the space limitations of the 3DS.

So what if ICE CLIMBERS GOT CUT. Not many people here really care about them, sorry to tell you.

Oh, sorry. :(

Oh, sorry. :(

It's alright, I think I'm getting used to being KH13's Ice Climbers fan. xD Geez, that seems title-worthy for some reason.
