I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with this, but the state of Colorado's had some bad records with wildfires recently. Last year, there was the huge Waldo Canyon fire, which raged for weeks, if memory serves correctly. Well, three wildfires broke out today across the state. I'll post a link to an article for anyone interested in reading more, but I'd like to give my own input on this. I'm actually fairly close to one of these fires. I can actually see the smoke plumes out my window, clearly. I'm not in the evac zone, in fact, it doesn't seem to be coming towards my house. Now, I'm not going to say which one I'm near, as I'm not comfortable with sharing that, but I'd like to really ask people to pray for, or think about for those of you who aren't religious, the people who's lives are being affected by this fire. I've seen bits of the news report, and it's really bad out there. There have already been a few houses burned to the ground I heard, and I've seen houses burning up. My family's going to come up with an emergency plan when my father comes home, and I advise anyone else on here living near one of these fires to do the same. As I said before, I'm praying for those who are being affected, and if it's not too much to ask, I'd like for you guys to think about the victims too. Thanks for reading guys. I mean it, really.

UPDATE: The evacuation zones have extended out where I live, I'm still not in that area. If I can pick up on any more important info (I'm trying to avoid watching the news, I'm honestly terrified), then I'll post it here.

California had a breakout a couple weeks ago so I got ya. One of them burned just up to the campus of the school I'm going to next year, but stopped right there. I hope Colorados fires goes better (or worse... eh you get the idea).

I was worried when I heard there were more. I wasn't near that one last year, but I know some people who were evacuated, and it actually came close to my school. My family voluntarily evacuated for a day and a half from this one, but we're coming back now. This summer's been way to dry, we need some rain. D:

Figures, I'm getting too much rain and you're not getting enough :( Wildfires aren't common in my area, as we've only had like, one forest fire but that was caused by a man. I don't know a lot about wildfires, but of course destructive disasters like that are never, ever, good.

Stay safe, I hope you and anyone/everyone in Colarado near those fires end up well and unharmed. I guess all you can do is listen for any news, stay with your family and hopefully any police/officials inform y'all to ensure everyone who needs to gets evacuated.

This is a really stupid question I'm sorry, but do the fires last throughout the night?

We got a little bit of rain earlier, it died out really quickly though... This fire was possibly created by a person, we're not sure though.

I'm in a safe area. Pre-evac zone, but the fire's contained where we live, and everything seems safe. There have been around 360 houses totally destroyed so far, I hear. We've got the news on, and we're listening for any updates.

The fires die down a little during the night, usually. They still go on, just not in full force. They usually flare back up around noon, though. It's alright, don't worry about it. :P Nothing wrong with being a little curious.

My prayers go out to all of you!

I hope everything will be okay soon!
