So I wrote this in a facebook comment and decided I kinda wanna share it here. I wouldn't entirely consider it "spot on", but...well I'll let you guys judge it.
The Beauty Of The Illusion Of The Puppet To be honest, it's one thing I've noticed an it's that people's opinion of Xion depends solely on their personalities. For example, a member on the fansite KH13 dislikes Xion and is of the opinion that Xion shouldn't have lied and kept so many secrets from her best friends. And then there's my opinion where I feel that in some cases it's advisable to keep secrets. There's people who dislike her because she was always so depressed and then there's people who like Xion because they feel they can relate to being depressed and confused, like the admin.
Now here's the part I like: The above makes it clear that how much you like or dislike Xion depends on the person you are! Where else does that happen? In the game! Saiix is always bitter and so his opinion of and behaviour towards Xion is bitter. Xigbar sees her as Ventus. Xemnas sees her as Sora. Riku and Roxas see her being similar to Kairi. And I'm quite sure Lea is, in a way, connected to Ven so that also connects him to Roxas, which is probably why he sees her the same way Roxas and Riku do. I can conclude with the fact that both, in real life and in the game, people's liking/disliking of Xion depends entirely on past experiences! That is the beauty of the illusion of the puppet.
