Through the countless plays of KHII, I have never really worked out when EXACTLY you get FInal Form. The other three are earned, but from what I can surmise Final Form is obtained after meeting certain critera - but even then it seems a little random. The only consistancy I can see is that I always seem to get it in The World That Never Was - usually by attempting to use Master Form, but instead going into Final Form for the first time. What are your experiences? Does anyone have an accurate answer to this?

Well for me it's the same as you, in The World That Never Was, but in the 2 times that I've played Kingdom Hearts 2, the first time I unlocked Final Form while fighting Xigbar and the second time by fighting Saix, so it's really random in terms of how you obtain it, but once you do, its Oathekeeper and Oblivion combined color awesomeness all the way!

you can randomly change to Final Form when you try to change form. That's what it says in the strategy guide, anyway.

I randomly got mine when fighting against Saix. Yes, you do randomly get it I the world that never was, but I think that if your other modes are fully levelled, you have a higher chance of achieving final form.

I got mine while grinding in Hollow Bastion once, but the first time it happened at TWTNW

After the encounter with Roxas, it just happens at some point. It seems random but I do think it has something to do with a stat on your forms, but I might be mistaken.

I normally get it after using Master Form atleast two times, after the scenes that unlock it(Roxas one in the Memory Skycraper). Though this time I went on a different approach to obtain it faster, which was to go to the Cerberus Cup, and continue restarting till the moment, that instead of transforming into the form I choosed, I transformed into Final Form. 

 

The transformation don't have much of a criteria, aslong as you have watched the Roxas scene in TWTNW, and got 5 Drive Gauge, you can unlock it any time you changed into another drive form in a battle. Though I have heard that it is related to the Anti-Form counter, not in the sense that it lowers it, but that the unlockment of the Final Form is related to it, as instead of transforming into Anti-Form you transform into Final Form, explaining why it is more possible for the form to appear in Organization battles, since the Anti Form counter has a 4x multiplier, in those battles, so you have a higher chance of transforming into Anti Form or Final Form.

This is interesting. Could you explain your understanding of the Anti-form? I thought it was simply every so many times you drive or through multiple drives in a boss fight. I didn't even know there was a 'counter'

Nomura have explained that Anti-form is a side effect of using Drive Forms to much, in a gameplay wise sense, while in Story wise sense, it is related to Sora's transformation into a Heartless. 

 

Famitsu Interview; Interviewer: "Is Antiform originated from when Sora got turned into a Heartless?" / Nomura: "Story-wise, yes. Drives are very strong so Antiform exists as a side-effect of using too much power. System-wise, I wanted to create something strong but troublesome."

 

Well the counter thing comes from Kingdom Hearts wiki. Though it seems quite reliable, since the things it mentions and the multipliers seem quite reliale, though I don't know if it comes from a guide or something similar.

Also after reading in the wiki, I was wrong about FInal Form and the counter. I was confusing it with the Two Become One Keyblade, and the Light and Dark ability, which when you transform into a drive you will only transform into Anti Form or Final Form. The first time Anti Form it have a 75% of appearing, Final form only a 25%. The second time a 50-50 for each. While the third, it is a 100% Final Form will appear.

Yeah I got Final Form for the first time while fighting Said. I tried going Master Form but randomly I got Final Form.

I never got final form... I know "LOSER"
