Pinnochio brings a lot of things to the table, in terms of themes. Lies, shortcuts, and skullduggery lead him the wrong way, and only when he has to fess up and walk the straight and narrow can he get what he really wants. Conversely, all of Organization XIII, in spite of their machinations and power, can't even come to accomplish any task due to the amount of corruption within them. In spite of their accolades and supposed study on the matter, they don't really seem to understand what a heart really means. In a way, they're over-thinking it. Pinnochio is able to understand it far better because he's willing to listen to the world around him and learn, rather than remain aloof and arrogant.

Also something fun to consider: Pinnochio only gets to become a real boy after making the ultimate sacrifice to try and save Gepetto; he's willing to give his life to save that of another, and in doing so, finds that level of humanity which eludes something made only of wood. And thus, he can turn into a real boy, which is regarded within the context of the story as the ultimate state of nirvana. Now consider Xion: at the end of the line, she decides to return herself back to Sora so that he might press on, even though it means her own existence will be voided. Again, she recognizes a humanity bridge that eludes all other Nobodies. And when she returns to Sora, she achieves what Pinnochio did: she has discovered what it means to be a real human, and ironically, in ceasing to exist, perhaps exists in a better state than she did when she had physical form.

Ooo you gotta do an Importance of Being Pinocchio thing.

The Organization really took the scenic route with what they were trying to accomplish.  To think Saix mocked Xion for being a puppet.  Goes to show you what even a puppet can accomplish, which DDD flat out states.

omg.

Sir.

You've made my day. You've just utterly made my day.

I'm not getting at much with this one, but they're both puppets that developed their own hearts.  Or at least, Xion was strongly implied to develop her own heart, enough to maintain presence in Sora and his dreams.

They both wanted to become real people, though Pinocchio is the one who seemed to have succeeded at that.  Sora might need to help Xion out with that one, but then again, didn't Pinocchio get help from Jiminy?  Though, even if Xion developed a heart, she can't be 100 percent counted as her own person (yet), being made up of Sora's memories and all.  Does that mean Pinocchio beat Xion in the "become a real person" thing?

Hell, he beat most of the Organization in that respect.  Pinocchio succeeded at what the Organization set out to do, only without the hassle of ruining lives and worlds to do so.  They became complete beings by causing harm and prompting Sora to fight them.  A wooden puppet got a heart by being himself.  Chew on that, Xemnas.

I'm afraid I just gave Xion haters even more ammo.  But if they do use it, at least they can't deny the Disney side of things.  That's looking at the light in the darkness!

Although Xion was indeed made of Kairi's memories, in the whole events of 358/2 Days, she made her own memories, so in essence she could be brought back without taking away the memories she was made with originally.  So once she does indeed receive an entity of her own to claim as hers, she does not rob Sora of any part of him.  I think the key to bringing her back, is to really remember who she is, as she is the only one in the series not fully remembered.

Xion deserves to live a life of her own and not live mearly just as Sora's Memories in physical form alone, to me, its personal that she, Roxas, Aqua, Ventus, Terra and Namine MUST return so that they can finally enjoy living their own lives to the fullest, enjoying the happy Times of their lives as well as experiencing the bad Times that will help them learn to grow as people :].

Dawww...now i'm afraid i'm going to draw some pictures of Xion and pinocchio real soon!

But what you said about Xion gave me some insight. All of that is quite true in a sense. Since Pinocchio has taken his last steps to become a real person, Xion has done the same for Roxas and Sora. So i hope that her sacrifice will bring her new life. Even though pinocchio-when he made that sacrifice-immediately became a real boy thereafter, Xion's trip will take a while longer...i'm guessing that its almost certain that she will come back to the world. I'm hoping physically instead of in memories. But i feel that Nomura has recognized all of those small hints and possibilities that he can or has already built on to give a reason and proof that she can come back. So i guess its just up to time to make her final step make its magic in the timeline...

I thought about that too. Xion is pretty similar to Pinocchio but Pinocchio's heart was a gift from the Blue Fairy.
