In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, when Ventus, Terra, and Aqua set out on their journey, they gained experience and learned new spells and abilities. The same thing occurred when Sora was introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Because of the memory alterations by Naminé in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Sora and company had to relearn their moves from Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days brings Roxas and co.; having their own experiences. Because of both Roxas's and Sora's lose of memory from Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days, both characters had to start from a blank slate in Kingdom Hearts II. Data-Sora was fresh to the scene in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, explaining why he had to learn things the real Sora had, and Sora and Riku are forced to abandoned their self-taught Keyblade abilities when they journeyed into the Realm of Sleep. So far, there has been a logical explanation for why the player starts off with very little at the beginning of each game. This begs the question, "how will it happen in Kingdom Hearts III?" My theory is simple: Sora and Riku only learned their new abilities in the Realm of Sleep. Now that they have returned to the Realm of Light, they have to learn them for real. What are your ideas?
