There is an "X" on it, and who do we know that relates to that? There was an X on Sora's chest as well, and Xehanort used that to track him and eventually turn him into a darkness. Perhaps the same happened with Eraqus. Maybe, at the point where Xehanort "killed" Eraqus, he actually placed one of the pieces of his heart inside of him, like he tried with Sora at the end of DDD, and that light we saw him turn into was actually him going forward in time. We don't know how it looks like when someone does, and most likely Terra really did save a piece of Eraqus just before he disappeared, but Young Xehanort could have been hanging back somewhere, and secretly transported Eraqus to the current present time where DDD takes place to create the illusion of him dying and thus fulling Terra's rage, and made Eraqus one of the thirteen darknesses.

 

If there's any flaws with this, please point them out. This is just a theory, after all.

I find it to be a far fetched, I mean it could be just the way he was design, but also I can understand by what you mean with the X.

We thought the X on Sora's chest in DDD was just a design at first.

Well considering Nomura has confirmed that Eraqus went into Terra and even MX states this as well when he's talking with Terra inside Terra i'm pretty sure that's the case.

 

" Master Xehanort says to Terra, "It seems there is another heart already residing in your own. Well well, Eraqus."

 

Was Master Xehanort the one who delivered the final blow to Master Eraqus?

Also, in his final moments Eraqus falls towards Terra - an important meaning is hidden in this scene.

 

 Also,when we see Eraqus die- his body disappears right in front of our eyes and into Terra so if YMX was gonna pick him up we would've saw him .  I'd say it's highly improbable but you never know 

 

Plus, say he was ' norted ' then and then instantly transported we know it takes time for the piece of Xehanorts heart to consume the vessel and there just wouldn't be time for that to happen and then control Eraqus in DDD. Look at Saix- he was 'norted' from the very beginning of Days too yet he was still trying to rebel and take over the org with Axel . As time passed he became more and more norted and it prolly contributed to his ' changing' Axel was complaining about . The heart piece is meant to slowly consume the vessel till it literally becomes xehanort. I don't think based on that Eraqus would be instantly norted and then controlled without having time for the heart piece to take effect.

Well the problem with that is that you need a body to nort. If Eraqus went into Terra and no longer has his own body there is no separate physical body to make a vessel through Terra. After all, it's the heart pieces that are taking over ones body . One of the reasons AX made the org into nobodies was that it made it even easier to attempt to nort them because there was no more original heart to fight and consume to take over .He could just place his heart piece and wait for it to grow and consume the vessel.

Terra, Aqua, and Ventus also has X on their chest. Riku used to have it and Kairi has it on her shoes. I doubt there is anything significant with all these others including Eraqus.

 

Sora randomly got new clothes during KH3D. Young Xehanort might then have interfered in the process and then added the X. While all the other characters I listed above chose to wear clothes with an X on it.

I doubt Eraqus was Norted but its interesting he had an X. Riku, Aqua, Terra, and Ven also all have X's on them. Maybe this is how Xehanort was able to keep track of each of them. Also embalmed heartless, nobodies, unversed, and dream eaters all have X's on them. So there are lots of X's in Kingdom Hearts.

I thought Eraqus was in Terra's Heart.

When he was struck down, Terra tried to catch him, but Eraqus poofed and floated into Terra. 

Then, Terra said,"Master Eraqus." Then, Xehanort showed up talk to Terra a little and devoured the world into darkness. 

In the Secret Ending, Xehanort says he senses someone residing in Terra's heart (Eraqus). 

 

So, no I don't so. He is source of Terra's light.
