Does he actually remember what happened in Castle Oblivion? Or does he just know who Naminé is based on the "thank Naminé" line in jimminys journal? The thing that confuses me is the fact that jimminy himself doesn't know who Naminé is in re:coded.

No one remembers what happened in Castle Oblivion, except maybe Axel while he was still a nobody. As sad as it is to say, Sora knows Namine only through the journal, even though he saw her at the end of kh2 (has a face and a name but doesn't have a clue they are the same person)

Namine removed the memories created during the events of Castle Oblivion. In doing so she erased Sora and the other's memories of her. However like all memories they can dissapear but they never truly fade as the heart will always remember.

Sora doesn't remember her and remembered her name from the Journal.  That being said there'll probably be some twist mind diving talky scene in the future that basically clicks and allows him to remember his journey there and who she is the same way an amnesiac would when their forgotten memories are triggered.  

 

Everyone's memories in connection to Sora were erased leaving CO (as said except for Axel, most likely cause he didn't need to forget since his memories weren't tampered with).  So Jiminy doesn't remember for the same reason Donald or Goofy don't.  The note was made by someone else or before the memories were erased by Jiminy.  

He doesn't remember: Namine was a tad of a plot device in coded, and that was Data-Sora anyway.

It's grand, I know the basic plot and how it ends but I haven't watched any cutscenes or playthroughs cause I know I'd eventually get it even if I had to import an American PS2 and copy of the game, I just don't know the minor details like that

Actually Naminé, Riku, DiZ and more knows about the event, except for the ones who slept (Sora, Donald and Goofy).

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but did Naminé erase the memories of Sora? Or did she just untangle and chain the memories properly together again? Or did she completely erase them?

Yeah, exactly Jiminy did write 'thank Naminé'! In order for Sora to remember her. 

True it was just Data Sora, so it's nothing the real Sora knows about.

 

I just read through some of the Secret Ansem Reports, from 'Secret Ansem Report 8' till the last one 'Secret Ansem Report 13', it says about every important thing that happened in Chain Of Memories. Does Sora even read them lol?

I wasn't trying to leave people out, I was just trying to say that Sora won't remember due to what Namine did.  

I think it's known that at some point in kh2 sora is told by someone of what happened in chain of memories.

I just watched every cutscene from KH2 Final Mix, in the the world that never was. All they talked about was Roxas, nothing chain of memories related.

It wasn't a cutscene.  At some point jiminy's journal has entries on Marluxia, larxene, and all the other organization members so it is presumed that someone must have told hi,m at some point.
