Capcom has warned that profits for this year will be about half of their initial prediction, and is taking some drastic measures to correct that. Capcom isn't doing too well this year. Profits for the current financial year will be about half of what was initially forecast, the company has warned. It was quick to point the finger at Western developers, under performing projects, and "not taking advantage of digital markets." Their solution for this is to cut ties with Western developers, and produce more DLC, a move that is sure to rustle a few jimmies, considering Capcom's "questionable" DLC policy. Also to blame for the profit loss were recent restructuring efforts at the company, an effort to keep up with "drastic changes in the industry's market environment." They also cited the "concentration of AAA titles in the hands of few foreign competitors" and its "delayed response to the shift to digital media in the home videogames business," as problems to be addressed. The most worrying thing that came out of this press release was the fact that Capcom asserted that "decline in quality of titles outsourced to overseas developers" has forced it to alter its business strategy: it wants to shift Western developers to internal R&D and "increase post-release DLC." Earlier this year, Capcom rebooted its Devil May Cry franchise with DMC: Devil may Cry, which was developed by UK studio Ninja Theory. While getting generally favorable reviews, the game ultimately failed to reach sales expectations. Lastly, Capcom stated that "work in progress in game software" has been "strictly re-evaluated for business restructuring". This is business speak for "games that we think won't sell well, or don't have the potential for post-release DLC, we are going to cancel." They just couldn't milk Megaman with DLC and that's why they canceled each and every single game he has since 2011 because none of them needed DLC.

I'm not usually one not to curse but in this case f*ck Crapcom and their need for DLC. Geez, first they make it their #1 priority to make sure they make more DLC for games like RE6 rather than work on new games, and now they're going to cancel games that have NO DLC??? Screw you Crapcom, I hope you guys go bankrupt and that Megaman get sold to a company that would take better care of him (like Nintendo).

Seeing as Sega just got Atlus, if Capcom goes bankrupt, my guess is we will be seeing it get bought by Nintendo. Although if they did, they might take all Capcom games and put it on Nintendo consoles, which is a bit upsetting.

Well,by the looks of it,it seems that campcom with the way they are doing things,the company sadly most likely WILL go down.I really hope they dont,but by the way they  are doing things,it almost seems inevitable.

They deserve it, they knew how Resident Evil 5 wasn't good as 4 and they knew how fans didn't like the over action but over all they still made the worse (Operation: Raccoon City and 6). It is obvious and clear to our eyes that Capcom didn't care about people's opinion at all and this is what made them to what they are right now. Can u believe that Capcom decided to wait for people's opinion about Resident Evil Revelations before making their next step, they finally decided to care about people's opinions after they became in the edge...
