I wonder were there any worlds that disappered/were destroyed before BBS (before the Kingdom Hearts series besides The Gigantic world that was once comprised of all of the seperate worlds mentioned in Kingdom Hearts)

Fool. I'm sure there were around the time of the war, but after the keyblade masters started protecting the light, it probably didn't happen all too much.

I think that some pieces of this huge world, which became smaller worlds, probably couldn't survive for various reasons, and may have had their own problems dealing with Darkness or other stuff. 

I don't think we'll ever get to know more about this, but it's something cool to discuss and make theories about (being worth thinking about). 

we can't really be too sure, but we do know that worlds like Radiant Garden and Destiny Island still had their barriers so its possible that all of the worlds lose their barriers at the same time seeing how the Ansem reports visited Radiant Garden with a gummi ship like right after the barrier broke down*

 

 

EDIT: the Ansem Reports said that Mickey visited Radiant Garden. somehow skipped over that part lol

Darkness was pretty much kept in check at the time by Eraqus and the crew so I'm guessing all of the worlds were good

I thought they were all pretty much fine until Ansem and Co. started messing with heartless.

But I'm not completely sure.  Best Answer = Ask Flaming Lea.

Worlds didn't start disappearing until the heartless came into existence. The unversed couldn't attack the worlds core like the heartless can. That's why in the Secret Ending of the Secret Episode, Aqua is so confused as to why "Castle of Dreams" was inside the Door To Darkness.

Well, the Heartless situation wasn't that bad back then, so I doubt the few that popped up every now and then ever made it close enough to the worlds' hearts to ever make much of a difference. If anybody wanted to destroy the world, they had to do it the old fashioned way......with a giant laser cannon.

 

Speaking of cannons, am I the only one who thinks that the first section of the Keyblade Graveyard was hit by an Ultima Laser or something?

Well, Its clearly stated that light and darkness were in balance, so no. I think when Xehanort had his fine idea, then the wrold began to destroy

Actually, all worlds have barriers, if I remember correctly, but once the door to the heart of a world has been opened, or the Heartless have infiltrated a world, the barrier is destroyed (though I could be wrong).

Well, possibly: 

Didn't the fairy tale Kairi's grandma tell her say Light wasn't able to re-create the connections between the worlds? 

That means they were left open to attack: it's very possible to assume some got blitzed before BBS.

no your right about that. and i know that all the worlds have barriers, i was just saying that some of the worlds like Radiant Garden and Destiny Islands still had their barriers during BBS cuz Xehanort broke the barrier for Radiant Garden and i think Riku broke the barrier to Destiny Islands basically by opening up the door to the world's Heart which then allowed Kairi to come to their world who appeared there right after the meteor shower which was the wall breaking down. 

I don't think the worlds were dissapearing during or before BBS, if they were, we would have hear of it. The Heartless were there, since Xehanort invoked some Neoshadows to fight Ventus, but they still weren't enough like in future titles. The majority of the barriers were still present aswell, so the Heartless couldn't get to worlds, unlike in KH, were they begun to brake, by the huge Heartless situation, and Xehanort opening the door to Radiant Garden's Heart or like in KH2, were they traveled the same way Sora, Donald and Goofy did, via the gateways the world provided and via the corridors of darkness, since the barriers were up and running.

 

So aside from the Original World, Kingdom Hearts and maybe some worlds that were too closed to the darkness, when they were recreated, I don't think that any world was destroyed by the Heartless or the Darkness, and if some were, Yensid or Eraqus would have mention it, plus, by what Mickey's letter says in KH, the situation of big quantities of star blinking out didn't begun since some time before KH1.
