Since Kingdom Hearts is supposedly show that both light and darkness are equal, is it possible, just like the people living in the Realm of Light, long ago there were people that had pure darkness without light in their hearts until something huge happened?

Okay before you state only Heartless exist there, lets go through some possibilities:

-Maybe like the Realm of Light, there are many worlds and a few of them create heartless

-Ansem the Wise and Aqua didn't travel so far

Also before you state otherwise of this topic, let get down to it:

-Since the people in the Realm of Light are greatly almost full of light, darkness hurts it, as in if there are almost full darkness hearts from the Realm of Darkness are hurt by Light

-As of now we know that if a person from the Realm of Light use darkness too much, they become corrupted. If it's the same but opposite for the people in the Realm of Darkness, then if they use too much light then they'll become corrupted

-Maybe the reason why the people living in the Realm of Darkness were never harmed is because they already have almost filled darkness hearts so heartless don't see a point of taking them over

-There was a keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, so people may live there having similarities of the people of light, making keyblades.

If this is true, then I'm hoping in the next saga we learn a lot more of the Realm of Darkness, Square Enix don't make them evil, and switch between gameplay of Sora and another hero from the Realm of Darkness.

Edit: I don't know about ya'll, but something doesn't make sense. In KH2, they said that Light can't exist w/o darkness and vice versa. Yet there was only the Realm of Light before the greediness? Something is not adding up. Highly unlikely, but what if the Realm of Light beings thought they created the Realm of Darkness, but yet they just never seen darkness before and it was just closed off from them 'til they started making darkness of their own, and the Realm of Darkness felt darkness from another realm, which led to this.

I agree and disagree... I agree that it would be interesting to see, but I think that it would add more complication.

Also, if a person had too much darkness in their heart and they succumbed to it, they would turn into a Heartless, and I think that it is more likely that if there were people living in the Realm of Darkness, they would have hearts of pure light, because this way it is impossible for them to turn into Heartless.

1 and 2: Actually, Aqua travelrd throughout the realm of darkness for a bit over ten years before even meeting up with Ansem the Wise. She explored much of the realm, and if she hadn't found any denizens of the RoD by this point, there probably are none., aside from the realm of light's worlds that become consumed by the Heartless (Castle of Dreams, for one).

3: Heartless and Nobodies are the beings opposite of the somebodies (Realm of Light). The somebodies are hurt by exposure to darkness, as the Heartless and Nobodies are to light (as seen with the first deaths of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas, respectively).

4: What you're stating here is just an "if" and does not need to be defended or argued against. But, regardless, neither light nor dark should be considered "evil" really, as they are two existences meant to be in equilibrium. Darkness, however, is merely treated as evil, as a whole, because of many whom "lurk inside it" with their "evil traits" as the people of the light put themselves on a pedestal and call them "good." I like to relate this conflict to virtues and sins. Both are the outcomes of an individual's characteristics that they're meant to have— NATURAL THINGS— but "sins" are treated as evil, as opposed to the "good" virtues. Who was to decide these judgements, and who was to decide what we would be born with?

5: This is also just "maybe's" and "if's". This part was commented on already, anyway

6: Keyblades choose their wielders and are passed on from one to another, not made. Who knows why Darkside/Kingdom Key D was in the Realm of Darkness?

You have a point, but for this Saga we have only seen things from a Realm of Light being's point of view. I would find this interesting and new for the next saga. If Square Enix has something else in mind though, then I most likely will like the alternative idea anyway.

What if the natural darkness heart being works differently since they are used to darkness, as a natural light heart being is used to light. Maybe like how a Realm of Light being becomes a Heartless for succumbing to it, maybe it has the same but opposite reaction when a Realm of Darkness being becomes something for too much light. Possibly maybe there are beings of Pure Darkness. Since the beings of the Realm of Light never really traveled through the Realm of Darkness and only see what the beings of the Realm of Light sees, maybe there are many things we, the fans, and all of the cast in the game so far we don't really know of. If we get to see things through the eyes of the natural beings of the Realm if Darkness (if Square Enix has something like this in mind), then we'll understand both sides completely w/o question.

But I'm not part of Square Enix so I'm just throwing a possibility out there.

1 and 2. Time works differently between the 2 realms. That's why Aqua looks the same as in BBS.

3. Nobodies are shunned by both Light and Darkness, which means that they are hurt by both light and darkness the same way. Remember that both Sora and Riku were holding the keyblade together? There could have been a little bit of darkness in the beam of light that helped kill of Xemnas.

6. "In order to conquer the light of Kingdom Hearts, they forged the first Keyblades in the image of the χ-blade, and they clashed with each other in a great Keyblade War that involved those that served light, those that served darkness, those that sought balance, and those who simply sought power." - This was from the Kingdom Hearts Wiki.

But I'm only running only on the facts I have that can support this, theories, and my mind. lol

She looks the same because she's in a special state of "Sleep" ... How time works between the Worlds and different realms wasn't explained yet, but Aqua herself said that she wandered around quite a long time. 10 Years... But she's one of the person who waits for their awakening, their birth by sleep ~

the idea's cool but i turn you towards kairi's grandmother's story from kh1 :P darkness was created by people who wanted to use the power of the light for themselves, it swallowed everyone but the children who rebuilt the worlds with the light in their hearts but it was fractured and disconnected :)

Fool. People of the realm of light are filled with both dark and light. They don't just have a lot of light and little darkness.
