The reason why Sora never got to see his raft on the night of the tragedy

Posted

Remember back to KH1, when the strom came to Destiny Island.

The whole reason why Sora goes over was because he was worried about the raft.

But did he ever get to check on his raft? Nope, he was distracted with Riku being disappeared, Kairi being disappeared and appearances of heartless, not to mention the huge darkside attacking him with the fist.

So what DID actually happen with the raft?

My friends thought of this but..........Sora and Riku from KH3D took the raft themselves and took it out to the sea xD

Think about it, there was no way they could've just made the raft out of no where in such a short amount of time. Sora, Riku, Kairi were all cooperating on that raft for several days xD

I think, since Sora and Riku who travelled back to time knew they wouldn't be able to use that raft anyway (because they know what's going to happen on that night) they just took it out and stole it from their past selves XDDD

I was totally mindblown by this.

So Sora and Riku stole the raft of Sora and Riku who will stole the raft of Sora and Riku in the future?

Well, the Sora and Riku of the time of DDD went back in time to steal the raft of the Sora and Riku of the beginning of Kingdom Hearts I.

Because the Sora and Riku of the past never got to the raft, it was inevitable. It is something of an explanation to both of them for why they never found the raft in the first place.

WHAT? HOW? It's about Kingdom hearts 3D!!

I thought you were joking especially when you said about over caring about a raft made of simple material that they can gather from anywhere

Hate to burst your bubble, but it was a dream and they already made the raft in the past. Simple as that. I don't think the raft disappearing warrants such a theory.

Also its not like Sora couldn't find the raft in kh1, he was just far more concerned with finding Riku and Kairi.

Well considering he never even made it to the part of the island where the raft was kept, so i doubt he was unable to find it.

Actually, it was not a dream. None of the game took place in Sora's dreams until TWTNW. Sora and Riku were sent back to the time of when the Destiny Islands fell to darkness so that they could unlock the sleeping keyhole to the Destiny Islands when it appeared, so that they would gain access to the sleeping worlds.

The raft would not have been there, even if Sora did visit its location.

Sora and Riku didn't go back in time to the destiny islands in the way you described it. The game makes it perfectly clear that to do so one must first of all discard the body as Ansem SoD had done prior to the first game. Sora and Riku did not do this. Why do you think it looks like both of them are reliving their pasts? They didn't throw that scene in there where Sora and Riku wonder how far the raft can take them for nothing. Compare this to Ansem who did travel back in time. He had lost no sense of his current self nor his physical appearance. And no way can you be arguing that Ursula was there the night of the storm. When goofy said Sora and Riku travelled back in time he goofed. They sort of went back in time but it was by means of a dream. The dream stuff does get pretty close to time travel when you think about it. I wasn't saying the game took place in Sora's dreams (aside from Riku's story), I was saying (or at meant to say that) Sora and Riku's dreams of destiny islands connected them to the sleeping worlds.

Finally you are saying the raft would not have been there even if Sora visit its location, but where is your evidence? There is no evidence as far as I know so why try to make a theory explaining it?

I think this was just a test by Yen Sid.

Or just a tutorial for the game.

It is you who is lacking in evidence; not I. I have been told by experts of the series that that is what happened.

Sora and Riku were put under a spell by Yen Sid so that they had the same bodies as when the story started, so that the experience of them learning how to use the Keyblade would be more realistic. Yen Sid sent the two of them back in time so that they would be at the Destiny Islands at the time they fell to darkness.

What makes you think that they were dreaming? If they were, then what made them dream of the time when the Destiny Islands fell to darkness, why were they in the same dream, and what made it so they were inside their own dreams without a cause? In the case of Ursula; Disney characters who are not Yen Sid, Maleficent or Mickey are not important, so they do not need to be talked about.

I have already explained why the raft would not have been there.

GUYS I found the proof

I read the 3D novel

and the raft they took in 3D = the raft they made in KH1

the novel states:

"The raft that they made together on that day was in front of them"

Let me explain a huge simplification on how I think time travel in kh3d went down: Time traveling and dreaming are nearly the same thing. It resolves nearly every issue the game throws at the theory. All the "rules" of time travel are the basic facts of dreaming: You don't take your physical body with you when you dream, you can dream of the past but only places you've been to or have heard of, you can't dream into the future, you can't change reality with your dreams etc. Combine this with some squishy notions on how dreams and hearts connect and other kh logicisms and things actually make sense.

With this in mind why do I think they were dreaming. Well to be honest I think it is impossible to time travel in the manner most people think its done. However Sora and Riku "time travelled" was doubtlessly different from what XH did (which reminds me you never responded how Sora and Riku time traveled without discarding their bodies). XH could not change the course of history, so Sora and Riku could definitely not steal anything physical from the past. I can't find it but there was a poster that said something along the lines of dreams connecting to each other and that is how you get in; I'll pull that up later. They dreamed of the destiny islands because that is when their world fell to darkness so that is when it would have gone to sleep. That feels like a lazy way to dismiss Ursulas presence.

Why wouldn't the raft have been there? It may just be me but I don't see any reasons aside from circular ones.

While novels are second tier cannon, and the issue isn't resolved in the game, I read this passage doesn't need to be read that way so nothing is proven yet.

Ehh, but whatever.

I assure you that the two of them having been at the Destiny Islands at the time was not a dream. Here is a more in-depth explanation of what happened:

Sora and Riku needed to go through the Mark of Mastery exam, and Yen Sid decided that the way for them to do that was for them to awake the sleeping worlds. Sleeping worlds are worlds that were supposed to be restored with the other worlds in KHI after the Door to Darkness was sealed, but remained in a state of sleep. Sora and Riku were lucky enough to have been on the Destiny Islands as they fell to darkness, so this was their way into the sleeping worlds.

The way that this works is that one must have a version of themselves at the location that they time-travel to. Because the past versions of Sora and Riku were on the Destiny Islands as they fell to darkness, this meant that the present versions were able to be sent back in time and arrive at that location at that time. So, Sora and Riku were given the same bodies as their younger selves by Yen Sid, and he sent the two of them back in time so that they could unlock the sleeping keyhole of the Destiny Islands when it appeared, so that they would gain access to the sleeping worlds.

Some theorise that the reason for why they were able to travel back in time is because both Sora and Riku have lost their bodies at some point; Sora became a Heartless for a brief period, and Riku's heart was sent to the Realm of Darkness after Ansem SoD possessed his body.

Well, it was a storm, so I am guessing the raft blew away or something.

how about look at it this way. BTW i'm replying to all who discussed this in this topic

Yen Sid put a spell on both of them so that they were able to travel back in time to right before the whole DI incident happened back in kh1. They were instantly placed in the play island and were going to take a raft to head to the dream world. When the raft was destroyed, they saw the keyhole underwater and unlocked that. That keyhole was the gate to enter the world of sleep. The reason they looked young in the dream world was because they time traveled first. But let me tell all of you people that Sora and Riku were Dreaming the entire time they were carrying out the test except when they get to TWTNW. But Sora was still asleep when he got there. So was Riku. and Riku finally woke up after he beat ansem.

So they time traveled and then went to sleep.

Actually, Sora and Riku were not dreaming for the entirety of when they were going through the Mark of Mastery exam, and they did not look younger because they had travelled back in time. If people aged with time travel, then that would probably mean that Young Xehanort would have been the same age as Master Xehanort during his time in the time period of DDD.

The keyhole that appeared was the sleeping keyhole of the Destiny Islands, and unlocking it meant that they gained access to the sleeping worlds.

BUT ISN'T IT MORE FUN TO THINK OF IT THIS WAY?!

come on, people.....have some joyful imagination in your life for once......

other than the fact that you proved me wrong with them looking young. i basically said all you just said.
