November 4, 201311 yr Author If your friend has a Gameboy,he may start playing Firered or Leafgreen, but if your friend had a DS,i think your friend can play Black and White directly since it doesn't have much cameo on other regions i think... I think she has a DS, but I have to confirm that. I don't know if she has money for a Pokémon game. If she doesn't, I could borrow her my White, but my White has everything I got for the last few years .-.

November 4, 201311 yr Author Get another White? That is, if you have the money. Let's just say that my savings need a Full Restore So she should start with Black/White. You gus agree with that?
November 4, 201311 yr I would recommend Soulsilver myself, but I'm partial to the Johto region a lot of the time. I would also recommend X or Y but they are more pricey right now, and a pointless suggestion if no 3ds is owned. Though the sheer amount of Pokemon in game to new players I'm sure would be exciting.
November 4, 201311 yr I think starting with X and Y might be overwhelming. My personal recommendation is FireRed and LeafGreen.

I've been thinking about borrowing my SoulSIlver to her, but I want to hear your opinions first. Help? Well, the best way to introduce her to the series in my opinion is to let him either try the remakes:FireRedLeafGreen and HeartGoldSoulSilver Or let her start with Black & White 2
November 4, 201311 yr Author Well, the best way to introduce her to the series in my opinion is to let him either try the remakes:FireRedLeafGreen and HeartGoldSoulSilver Or let her start with Black & White 2 Black/White 2? Wouldn't that game confuse her? Because of the storyline and such.
November 4, 201311 yr Black/White 2? Wouldn't that game confuse her? Because of the storyline and such. Well, the story of Black and White 2 is a little bit more simple than BW 1 I meant if you want to introduce her to a game that has a huge amount of Pokemon to catch and a good challenge that isn't too hard or too easy. But I think it'll be good if you introduced her to FireRedLeafGreen and HeartGoldSoulSilver first
November 4, 201311 yr If she has a computer with at least a gig of ram, emulators for fire red. You don't get the exact same experience as with a handheld, but she gets to see it. And if not, TBH, I would go Platinum. Great game story-wise and good features, and a lot of cool 'Mons from the start.
November 4, 201311 yr I recommend Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald (preferably Emerald, due to the post-game features). To me, FireRed and LeafGreen are terribly boring.
November 4, 201311 yr The first Pokemon game I played was Ruby. But if your friend only has a DS she should play Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum.
November 4, 201311 yr You should first ask her, what does she like the most, story or gameplay. If its Gameplay, give/get her HeartGold or SoulSilver. You may even get her XY if she has a 3DS. HG/SS has the best features until XY. It is extremely fun and it is a wonderful experience. XY would be a better choice, if and only if she has a 3DS. If she still wants it, I recommend getting her a 2DS or lending her your own. If its Story, get her Black and White. Black and White is good at gameplay but its story is what makes it the most memorable. I believe this is the best place to start since it doesn't seem to have an overwhelming number of Pokémon (450 compared to 160ish Pokemon) and it will be perfect if she loves having a good story.
November 7, 201311 yr Defenetly suggest Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Basic, classic, AND really good with a lot to do? Plus; JOHTO!!!! 8D My second suggestion is gonna have to be R/S/E soo maybe more people will be in the 'its gotta be re-made!' wagon plus hoenn had such epic music and stuff too imo. Maybe i'm just a nastalgia critic; i used to play my sapphire version for HOURS.... Although, i feel bad for sinnoh now. feels a bit underrated/under talked about dawn was my favorite playable out of ALL the female characters, too.....(even tho i used to get frusterated a lot back when i was playing sinnoh :| i really like her design tho sides, i was going through some stuff those years....) T___T;;; Edited November 7, 201311 yr by ~DawnStar2004~
November 9, 201311 yr Author She could choose between Soul Silver, or White. She chose Soul Silver So far she's at Goldenrod City, before she faces Withney. And I'm damn impressed with her team, for a first timer. - Kadabra (Lv 21) - Heracross (Lv 22) - Vulpix (Lv 22) - Flaffy (Lv 22) - Geodude (Lv 21) - Croconaw (Lv 23) Edited November 9, 201311 yr by Weedanort

November 10, 201311 yr Yeah, she should be fine Kinda makes me wanna play Soul SIlver again The best way to play a Pokémon game is to play with a friend. It'll make it fun for both of you guys. You should do this when you guys get XY, much easier to battle each other in that game.
A friend of mine wants to start playing Pokémon, but she doesn't know which one should she play first, so I'm helping her out.
